okay module five I call this one time prioritization and so what does that mean what is time prior I think this is a pretty important video but hold on a minute I just I want to check my email real quick here uh what do I got going on here oh it looks like I got a text message coming in on my computer can you guys hold on just a minute I I know your time's valuable um you know you're you're watching this and to me that's important but I just I just want to answer this email do you get the T do you get the idea text messages emails phone calls ringing in hey here's my phone all of a sudden it rings I don't know who's calling me why would I answer it unless I know that there is an important phone call coming in there's no reason for me to let this take priority over you right now there's no reason why an email coming in should take priority over you right now the text message nope not at all when you're with the customer when you're with your managers when you're on a project don't think it looks cool to have your phone ringing don't think that this is what business is that's the exact opposite that is the worst Vibe you can give off you know I will let my phone ring and I will shut it off immediately and I've had customers say oh you can take that and I will let them know then and there there is nothing more important than them at that moment in time time prioritization whether you're with a customer or whether you're working on a project that has a deadline it's all the little things that intrude our day interrupt our process nobody can multitask you can't I can't never met a person that can technically multitask multitasking is the ability to do two things at once it's like chewing bubblegum and walking those are actions but you can't think two separate thought thought lines at the same time okay that's completely different than multitasking you can't be putting numbers together on a proposal and remembering that you've got to make a phone call over here when you do that you stop one train of thought and you start another train of thought okay but you don't ever have both trains going at the same time you only have one at a time and so make sure you stay focused you prioritize your time that's going to help you be more efficient
