What happens here
Before any paint application, thoroughly prepare the area. Use painter's tape to define crisp lines around the fireplace, ensuring all edges where the new paint meets existing surfaces are protected. Cover the fireplace opening with plastic sheeting and secure it with painter's tape. Protect adjacent surfaces, such as the mantel, with masking paper, also securing it with tape. Lay down floor protection, like Ram Board, to prevent paint drips or overspray from damaging the flooring. The video begins with the fireplace already fully masked.
Goal: Prevent overspray and achieve clean paint lines.
