Roll, Twist, and Cut Plastic Sheeting

What happens here

To execute the improved cutting method, first, hold the roll of plastic sheeting against a flat surface, such as a wall or floor. Unroll the desired length of plastic from the roll, allowing it to hang or lie flat. Once the desired length is achieved, take both hands and firmly twist the unrolled section of plastic sheeting together, creating a tight, rope-like section. While holding the twisted plastic taut, use a sharp utility knife to make a quick cut through the twisted plastic. The twisted plastic provides tension and compresses the material, making it easier to achieve a clean, straight cut.
