Tiltrotator aka- steel wrist on the job, cost, hookup, choices & more

What happens here

The financial aspect of acquiring a Steelwrist tiltrotator is addressed. The presenter estimates the base unit cost to be around $30,000, noting that this figure does not include installation or plumbing. He clarifies that tiltrotators can be ordered directly from the factory integrated with a new excavator or retrofitted to existing machines. Retrofitting an older excavator with a Steelwrist unit and auxiliary hydraulics is presented as a viable option, often taking about a day and a half for one person with some assistance. The high adoption rate in Sweden (95-100%) and Steelwrist's recent establishment of US sales and service offices are highlighted as factors making these attachments more accessible.

Goal: Provide information on the cost, installation options, and accessibility of Steelwrist tiltrotators.

question that everybody's going to be screaming is, "What is the retail price or what's the average price of these things?" And we're not here to sell them to you. I don't have a clue. Well, I do have a clue. What am I talking about? I do have a clue, but now we've talked about them all the way up to the 300 unit, all the way down to the compact minis. Let's say a machine like this. How much is a unit like that run? I'm going just ballpark it. That's probably in the 30 range. 30 30 grand, right? Okay. So, 30 grand. That's not installed. It's not plumbed. Correct. That's you buy it. You get to throw it in the back of your pickup truck or something probably way bigger than that and haul it home and figure out how to get it hooked up from there. Right. Or you order it from the factory. Okay. Well, that's the nice thing about is now that uh most brands are starting to integrate with one of the other brands of these is they're starting to offer these from the factory. So you can actually have it attached when it gets done. That's a that's a great thing you just said, Matt, but a lot of guys can't afford a brand new machine from the factory. Sure. A lot of the guys have a piece of equipment that maybe it's served them well and they love it and now they just want to bring it to the next level, right? Is retrofitting an older machine with this unit of a a viable option or is it got to go through? It is now. Uh that's one of the things why we didn't curate beforehand is like I said this had almost 95 100% take rate over in Sweden and it wasn't that common over here. What changed is Steel Risk has set up shop in the US now. They didn't move their entire company here but they did set up an office here. So they have parts service and sales all in the US now. So, if you have an existing machine, you have an old machine, as long as you have the auxiliary hydraulics where you have the means to put those on, then they can sell you the attachment and install it at your site. And we did it here, not
