hey this is Josh Tony rich farmer I wanted to talk to you a little bit about way of life that we've become accustomed to in America we're becoming more and more accustomed to eating fast foods eating things that we don't really know where they come from and that it's quite disturbing I'll tell people at work about how we are growing our food on our farm and our pigs and we're gonna slaughter a pig and make sausage or I'll go hunting and kill a deer and process the meat myself and and we'll eat deer well some people say well I don't eat deer or all that's gross so don't tell me anymore oh don't tell me anymore how can you be so ignorant to not know where your food comes from you're eating things that were alive you're you're an omnivore as a human being you can be a vegetarian or vegan all you want to if that's what agrees with your stomach then that's just fine but don't come crying to me when you have health problems we're all gonna have health problems we're all gonna get older but wouldn't you rather know where your food comes from wouldn't it give you a finer respect for life and the things that you eat if you actually knew where it came from a chicken sandwich becomes a whole lot more than a chicken sandwich when you raise that chicken okay you'll think a whole lot more about wasting and you won't waste as much you'll think about all the work that goes into making food and you won't throw away as much you'll you'll eat only what you want and you'll save it some people will say they don't even eat leftovers how can you throw away a piece of meat this was once a living being how can you say you're a Christian and you'll allow yourself to throw away part of an animal a sacred thing just like buddy so what's tiny Ridge Farm and Stoney Ridge farmer is all about here is is getting back to nature and getting back to the way things should be and you should know where your food comes from you should know your food should know the amount of work that goes into it if I kill them process a hog it takes all day if I kill them process a deer it takes all day a lot of work went into that and I'm proud of it just going out and picking up food at the grocery store is just fine it's just fine for everybody but I think we've lost the respect that we need to have for the creatures that we are eating and for the vegetables the amount of work that goes into it this this this body is not a machine and machines don't do everything for you you've got to be able to think for yourself and when I think for myself I want to know where my food comes from and I want to know how it was raised and I want to put the work in so that I have the respect for what I eat so that's just some thoughts about why we're farming and what we're doing here on Stoney Ridge farm this is Josh Stoney Ridge farmer thanks for watching
