This was a painful process. End result was cool. #theend #makeover #laundryroom

What happens here

Begin by kneeling comfortably on the floor near the edge of the vinyl tiles you intend to remove. Hold the Wagner Furno 700 heat gun in one hand, directing the hot air onto a small section of the vinyl floor tile. The heat gun's display shows it operating at approximately 258 degrees Fahrenheit, which is an ideal temperature to soften the underlying adhesive without melting the vinyl. As the adhesive begins to soften, use a metal scraper or putty knife, held in your other hand, to gently slide under the edge of the heated tile. Apply consistent, upward pressure to pry the tile from the subfloor. Continue to apply heat to the area just ahead of where you are scraping, allowing the softened adhesive to release the tile efficiently. Work systematically across the floor, lifting each tile carefully to minimize breakage and reduce the amount of adhesive residue left behind.

Goal: Effectively remove vinyl floor tiles by softening adhesive
