What happens here
After evacuating the old fluid and ensuring the tire has approximately 5 PSI of air pressure, switch the pump's selector lever to 'pump' to begin installing the new RimGuard ballast. Visually monitor the amount of fluid being pumped from the graduated tote. Continue pumping until the tire is filled to 75% capacity, leaving a 25% air pocket at the top. This air pocket is essential to prevent sloshing during operation. Once filled, remove the installer tool, reinsert the valve core, and use a torque wrench to tighten the lug nuts to the manufacturer's specifications (e.g., 100-110 foot-pounds) for safety. Apply a RimGuard sticker near the valve stem as a reminder to always check air pressure with the valve stem at the 12 o'clock position to avoid fluid loss. If the tire was overfilled and RimGuard comes out when adding air, it means the tire was overfilled and the customer is likely to lose ballast and money.
Goal: Fill tires with RimGuard ballast and ensure proper installation for optimal performance.
