Finalize Hose Connections and Air Inlet
At 7:22 in
This sand blaster was useless, Until I did this.
What happens here
The presenter attaches a 3/8" FIP coupling to the newly installed 1/2" x 3/8" hex nipple at the very bottom of the sandblaster's media outlet, using Teflon tape for a secure connection. He then connects the main media hose (the one that leads to the deadman switch) to a 1/2" ID x 1/2" MIP brass hose barb adapter, which he then screws into the front-facing port of the T-fitting. A hose clamp is used to secure the hose to the barb. For the top air inlet, he uses a 1/4" air fitting with pre-applied Teflon tape and screws it into the air regulator assembly. He clarifies that for compression fittings, which create a metal-to-metal seal, Teflon tape is generally not needed.
Goal: Secure all necessary hose and air connections for operation.
