Drill Shelf Holes and Apply Adhesive
At 0:44 in
This is the process we like to use. Simple, strong and effective!
What happens here
Position the cut wooden shelf board against the wall, aligning it precisely with the headless lag screw brackets. Mark the exact entry points for the screws on the back edge of the board using a pencil. Next, select a drill bit that matches the diameter of the headless lag screws and use a drill to create deep, straight holes at each marked point on the back of the shelf. Ensure the holes are deep enough to accommodate the full length of the protruding lag screws. Finally, using a caulk gun, apply a generous amount of construction adhesive or a strong wood glue into each drilled hole. This adhesive will provide a secure and lasting bond between the shelf and the wall brackets.
Goal: Mark and drill holes into the back edge of the cut shelf boards to match the wall brackets, then fill these holes with construction adhesive.
