Install and Secure Mantel

well i'm hoping for now that this wood doesn't split there's a gap here because that's how the wood decides to be more narrow there i wish i cut off a little bit more on the opposite side but hey we'll make it work but how cool how cool is this now it's not secured yet as you can see there's a little wobble that's more like a structural thing let's lock it in place and i'll show you well they're right here actually using these massive 10 inch lag screws from the top where we're gonna drive them all the way through that way they're not going anywhere that is perfect my friend that conceals it really nice actually and there we go now all that's left is to put some wood filler in there and dab it off with a little bit of a dark ebony stain so it kind of blends in together but man oh man we got ourselves a beautiful barn wood mantel and the wild thing is we made out of this hunk of junk ridiculous
