What happens here
After attempting to clear the clog with the toilet auger, perform an initial flush test. Press the flush handle and carefully observe how the water drains from the toilet bowl. Look for signs of clear, rapid drainage, or if the water level rises or drains slowly. If the water drains quickly and completely without any hesitation or excessive rising, it's a good indication that the clog has been removed. However, if the water still drains slowly or fills up the bowl, the clog may only be partially cleared or still present. In such cases, repeat the augering process (Step 3) or proceed to the more robust bucket test (Step 5).
Goal: Flush the toilet to observe drainage and determine if the clog has been cleared. Repeat augering if drainage is still slow.
