What happens here

Following the approved design, excavate the areas for pathways, patios, and the foundations for any structures like the outdoor kitchen or stone columns. Ensure a stable and properly sloped sub-base by compacting the excavated soil. Lay down a minimum of 4-6 inches of compacted gravel sub-base, followed by a 1-inch layer of sand for setting the pavers. Install concrete footings for the outdoor kitchen and any heavy stone columns or retaining walls. Carefully lay the chosen pavers, typically large format, interlocking stone pavers, for all pathways and patio areas. Use a rubber mallet to seat each paver firmly and check for levelness and proper slope for drainage. Install paver edging to stabilize the perimeter of the hardscaped areas.

Goal: Construct the foundational hardscaping elements including pathways and patios.
