(11,749 characters)What creates hyper-successful companies? What's the difference between a company that struggles at $500,000 and a company that blows past $50 million? I had an aha moment. One of those moments of revelation where something I've been pondering for a long time all of a sudden just made [music] sense. I've been wondering So, let me back this up. The thing I've been pondering is I have the been have I have the blessing of being able to go behind the scenes with phenomenal companies. [music] I drank shots of tequila with the president of Milwaukee tools. I know first hand best friends with the people that built Eagle from zero >> [music] >> to a billion with a B, billion-dollar company. I have >> [music] >> gone behind the scenes with custom wheels and offsets and talked to the president as he told me how he went from selling products out of the back of a van at a park to building his company to $150 plus million. I have an open door invitation at Aquascape. They They do between 60 and $70 million to stay inside of the business anytime I want. And I don't say any of these things to brag. I say them to set the stage for what I've been thinking about. And the question was what creates hyper-successful [snorts] companies? What's the difference [music] between a company that struggles at $500,000 and a company that blows past $50 million? What is Is there a common thread? Is there a common denominator? Is there something that all of these different companies from different aspects have in common? And I've been thinking about this forever and ever and I kind of had some ideas but it came to me in one absolutely glorious moment. It was just like it was so clear. Why didn't I think of this before? The ignition source. The ignition source. I call it the ignition source. Every single one of these hyper-successful companies had one thing [music] in common. And that was one person. One person that ignited a fire inside of the corporation. One person that lit the spark that started everything. And the entire business depends and hinges on that one person staying inside of that business. It gets crazy, you guys. The It was Yes, all of these different companies have an ignition source, some person with an unfailable belief in what they're doing that they cannot fail. Setbacks are nothing more than better ways of moving forward down the road. These are people with such a clear vision of what needs to happen to take their business to the next step that it is [music] becomes a tangible thing. Often times these people, these ignition source visionary people walk around like they're in a haze. They They think >> [music] >> Well, like if you see the ignition source in a company, and you guys may know what I'm talking about. Maybe you have a visionary, you know a visionary, you know somebody inside of a business. >> [music] >> A lot of times they'll be walking around and they're excited, they're passionate but sometimes they're disconnected. And it's not because they don't care about the business, it's because they're not living in the moment. This is where it gets amazing. The visionary does not live in the moment of time that you see them. [music] Their mind is where this company will be in 5 years. The path is so freaking clear to them that they can actually see [music] everything that they have to do to get to the next step down the road. So, a lot of times [music] their head is 5 years ahead of the game of where they're at right now because they know everything that's happening right now is all calculated. All the struggles they're They're going to figure out how to get past and beyond but they see where they are going. And it's just a matter of routing, navigating to that just like GPS. >> [music] >> Like if you go from Minnesota to Missouri, you can't see Missouri from Minnesota. But if you [music] follow the GPS and you follow the trails, you know you're going to get to your destination, wherever that may be. That's all they're doing is navigating to where they know they're going to be. The stronger the ignition source, the stronger the vision of that person that drives everything fundamental in that company the stronger that business will be. And they know that one of the fundamental keys to building an empire is the team within them. But the team without that visionary without the ignition source can struggle on its own. When the ignition source disappears the business itself cannot be the same. They can build an empire but the vision the ignition source is still the vision of the company. It's still the driver, it's still the motivator, it's still the one that can build that empire because they can put the strongest people in place possible but those people, that team do not have the same vision, the same long-term scope of where this company is [music] going. They know the fundamentals, they live in a shorter time frame. So, the team requires the ignition source to always be there because the ignition source >> [music] >> has the vision long-term of where everything is going to go. The team does everything else. Think of it like a ship, steering a ship. A massive cruise ship depends on an entire team, the engineering team, the maintenance team. >> [music] >> It requires all of these people working hand in hand, but they need one person that knows everything and can dial everything in and keep that ship going in the right direction. And when that person disappears, [music] although the other team the the accolades and the qualifications and everything about the rest of the team don't change it puts a major hiccup, a major developmental crisis >> [music] >> into how that ship operates. And a business is absolutely no different. Turn yourself into the ignition source. Believe in yourself. You've got to believe in yourself so fundamental that it [music] translates into your team. See, the ignition source empowers the team. The ignition source emboldens the people that work with them to become the absolute best versions of themselves. See, the the ignition source is the person that builds the team. [music] The team can't necessarily operate without the ignition source simply because the ignition source, that visionary, that single person with the single-mindedness to be able to know exactly where the company is going is also able to look into the individuals that are around him and see the qualifications and traits that make those people stand out amongst the herd. And when that person, that visionary finds the right people he builds the traits out of those people. See, those people don't necessarily his team don't necessarily They can't operate the business without him because those people don't even have the vision themselves to see what's [music] inside of themselves. This is the job of the ignition source. This is the job of the visionary. They absolutely build [music] their team from the ground up. They don't hire their team. Their team doesn't come in with all of these qualifications and [music] all of this magical traits. Absolutely not. In fact, the higher qualifications that a person comes into on the team from the get-go the more it can skew the fundamental location, the fundamental place that the visionary sees the vision going because these preconceived ideas of where they came from this is how things should operate. And that messes up the visionary. That messes up the ignition source because it disrupts their flow. The best ignition sources, the best visionaries build their team from the ground up. And their team stays with them. All of these ignition sources have teams that have been there right out of the gate, have people that absolutely have learned to share that vision and love their ignition source. They absolutely love their ignition source because the ignition source has developed and built their team, has seen all of the things that makes all of these special people that they surround themselves with special in the first place. >> [music] >> And those people never knew what was in them. They were clueless that they had these capabilities. But the vision source, the ignition source knew it right out of the gate. They can see that in other people. And they foster that, they grow that, and they turn that into a little tiny thing, a little tiny seed they grow into a giant oak tree. So, these vision sources >> [music] >> have a capability to see things in others, to see the potential in their business, and to follow a very clear road map that is ingrained in their head. Everything is already laid out in front of them. They know where everything is going to go. They know uh where the business is got to go. They know that it's going to get there. They don't know how. They can't see every turn before it gets there, but they know where it's going to end up because they feel it. I'm So I'm telling you guys, I want you guys to be an ignition source. >> [music] >> I want you guys to be a visionary because it's here. It's right here. It's inside of them. And they can feel [music] it. It becomes a tangible thing. It's something that is undeniable, and it doesn't matter what gets in their way. It doesn't matter if they get a flat tire. It doesn't matter if the road get if it's a dead end road. It's just a matter of working around it, and they'll get around it because they know where they are going to be. They have such a foundational belief that they're on the right track in what they're doing that any obstacle that comes in their way really doesn't make a difference. It doesn't matter. It does not matter. And they they turn that They give that to their team. They give that to their team. If you guys can believe in what you're doing >> [music] >> to that extent you will be successful. If you absolutely can feel it, if it feels like you can chew [music] on it, if it feels like it's there I absolutely 100% promise you. I promise you. You will be successful. You can't doubt yourself. You've got to believe in yourself. Let others doubt [music] you because they will. And when they do that's a good thing. That's a That means you're on the right path because other people don't want to see [music] you succeed. To your face they'll want you to they'll say that but behind your their your back the problem is they don't want to see you get ahead of them. They don't want to see you leapfrog ahead of them. So, [music] you may find pushback in ways that you weren't expecting. Take it as a compliment. If you don't have haters, if you don't have doubters, if you don't have people that are pushing back on you then your vision isn't strong enough to make them jealous. [music] Take it as a compliment when people doubt you. Take it as a compliment when people try to distract you or try to pull you down. Take it as a compliment. Because you're doing [music] something that they can't do and you're making them feel inferior. And you may not be doing that intentionally, but you need to understand [music] that it means you're doing what you were meant to do. So, believe in yourself. And I [music] believe in you. I believe that you just need to internalize it. I believe you need to feel it to the point where it is a raw fact of life. It is a core inside of your essence. And when you get to that point, I can guarantee you that no matter what you're hoping to do will happen. You will be successful. But that was my aha moment that I wanted to share with you guys. I hope you stayed fueled by Jesus and [music] coffee. And I hope you feel it. I hope you feel it. God bless you guys, and go get them. God bless them, go get them.
