What happens here

Once the joints are filled with dry sand, attach a garden hose to a spray nozzle set to a fine mist or shower setting. Gently mist the entire patio surface. The goal is to thoroughly saturate the polymeric sand in the joints without dislodging it or washing it out. You should see the water slowly soak into the sand. Continue misting until the top layer of sand in the joints appears saturated and water begins to pool slightly on the surface, indicating the polymers are being activated. Avoid high-pressure spray.

Goal: Saturate the polymeric sand with water to activate its binding properties.
