The creator introduces the main task of the day: staining the outdoor kitchen structure. He points out the necessity of using a Genie lift (aerial work platform) for high areas, as the structure reaches 24 feet. The goal of staining is to clean gutters, run electrical, and preserve the Douglas Fir wood which is already showing signs of graying. He then introduces the specific product to be used: Wood Defender 200 Series Stain & Seal, in Transparent Redwood color. The video briefly shows preparations for staining, including laying down plastic sheeting to protect the ground from drips and spills and using cut cardboard pieces to shield the stone bases of the wooden posts.
Goal: Prepare the timber frame structure and workspace for staining.
