The ASV Slid OUT of CONTROL.

What happens here

During heavy mulching operations in snowy, wooded terrain, the ASV RT-135 Posi-Track machine gets stuck on a buried log, causing it to 'teeter-totter' with one side elevated. The machine loses traction, making it impossible to move forward or backward. This highlights a common challenge in off-road heavy equipment operation when ground conditions are unpredictable and obstructions are hidden beneath snow and debris.

Goal: Identify the cause of the ASV RT-135 becoming stuck.

Tools and materials

  • ASV RT-135 Posi-Track ASV — The primary machine in operation, which gets stuck
  • Buried Log Natural — The obstacle that causes the ASV to become stuck
  • Snow Natural — Covering hidden obstacles and contributing to difficult terrain

that got it stopped all right you guys let me kind of explain what happened and what's going on with this situation um so we've got two and three foot snow banks but below those snow banks we've got logs buried in the ground and froze solid in place and we've also got a lot of really steep bluffs and clips so we've on the top of this area where we're working is relatively flat but both sides come up like a mountain to this flat top peak what had happened is right on the edge of one of these cliffs or bluffs a log was froze sideways and as the asb went over and you can't see it because it's below the snow so as the asb went over it it teeter-tottered like this and once it teetered this way it wouldn't totter back and so then i was stuck facing down just like this facing down a bluff trying to back my way back up but since it was on a log all it was doing was spinning the tracks wouldn't grab enough to allow me to get up and back over to the top
