hey folks that fix it guy here so it's 8 30 at night i'm fixing to roll out going over to my friend's house he's having a little bit of a water heater issue he's actually been working on his water heater most of the day called me he's like dude this is my third trip to lowe's he's like i might be a little better off if i uh knew how to solder so well give me a couple minutes i'll be right over so we're gonna go check this out we'll see what we can do for them and hopefully get them up and running for the night so come along let's get to fixing [Applause] you can see that my friend has made like a 48 inch hose which is awesome it's good uh he's rocked it out man he he put a expansion tank in there which you're supposed to have for thermal expansion so the problem is he can't connect this vent hose at all now because i just destroyed it um he can't connect that vent hose to right here because this pipe is in the way so i'm actually gonna move this pipe over i'm just gonna quickly cut a coupling in right there we're gonna bend this over out of the way and then get him hot water for tonight and we'll come back over and hook it up another time we've got the whole house trained we're starting to [Music] get that cleaned as best we can grab this little bad boy awesome ratcheting little cutter this really is just kind of a quick job we're gonna hook this up get these guys back up and running hot showers make things better shouldn't be too much water in there just try to get as much as we can i was just trying to get it down lower than that but we might get a touch of water here dude for all this too it's there to be used okay something over there try to get a little bit of that fitting starting to get a little water there okay it's just all over me again all right so got that hooked up then i take some of this oxygen tube that i usually carry around with me for instance just like this you don't want any water so you're gonna have to all right let's see let's see what we got here oh shouldn't have an issue let's just do it one more time okay so we got that hooked up we have a fitting brush for our coupling you always want to make sure it's all clean that's for sure a little bit of flux i'm a huge fan of no corrode if you guys looking for quality flux no corrodes where it's at if you guys like the channel please click the subscribe button you know we're just trying to help out and do what we can do and you can see i'm willing to come anytime it's always good to help somebody fix something okay bam bam bam bam bam and we're good to rock and roll there you can use propane but i prefer map gas um some lead free solder you want to go with some 95.5 but this is actually technically um 95.6 and 4 and 0.4 and ton of other things so we're going to rock and roll there this is going to go back in place right here and then we're going to spin this around right here for the time being and just get it to where we can solder this up um there that i know i've seen some paper towel so you're just gonna wipe the extra flux off too you want to get all that off of there you can see all this green right here that's actually because they didn't wipe the flux off that's all just old flux but if you get that all wiped off of there you're not really going to get so much solder dripping so now we're just going to burn this up real quick and you'll be able to see it when the flame right here starts to turn a little green you're gonna be able to start letting some solder flow [Music] that took the whole way around a little bit of a booger down here that's all right okay let that cool down for a second just wipe that off again one of your best friends in this game this is not a loose inspection mirror but actually an inspection there let's see that why is this thing all wonky now oh it's loose it's a good thing i carry these little buggers boom so then you're just able to get back here you're able to look at your joints you want to make sure everything around the back side of this is all soldered everything looks good and that's it for us tonight we're gonna go ahead we're gonna put the rest of this together and get out of here all right folks so that was me helping my friend out real quick right i just had to cut some pipe spin it solder up a coupling and got him in a position where he could hook the rest everything else up it's uh it's one of those things you go out you help i love that he wants to do things himself too he's always hooking this stuff up and just don't be afraid if you ha if you know somebody that can help you out hook it up by all means shoot me an email a lot of people have been emailing me lately just asking me for a tip or for advice and i'm all about helping right that's the reason why i set up the facebook diy
