Prepare PEX Pipe and Fitting

What happens here

Before crimping, it is crucial to ensure the PEX pipe is fully inserted into the fitting. For Viega press PEX fittings, there's a helpful visual indicator: a small inspection hole on the metal crimp ring. When the PEX pipe is not fully inserted, this hole will appear black or empty. As you push the PEX pipe further into the fitting, the white of the PEX pipe will become visible through this inspection hole, indicating that the pipe is correctly seated all the way to the stop within the fitting. This confirms the connection is ready for crimping.
