STUCK IN THE MUD! Tracks vs tires in the mud hole!
What happens here
Before starting the installation, ensure the skid steer's tires are adequately deflated. The video creator uses a portable DeWalt air compressor for this task, but any suitable air compressor can be used. Connect an air chuck to the tire valve stem and remove the valve core using a valve core tool to quickly release air. Once the air is sufficiently released, detach the air chuck and valve core tool. This step ensures that the tires are soft enough to allow the tracks to be fitted over them, creating proper tension once re-inflated.
Goal: Reduce tire pressure to facilitate track installation.
Tools and materials
- Air Chuck — Connecting to the tire valve stem for inflation/deflation
- Portable Air Compressor DeWalt — To inflate tires after track installation and can assist in initial deflation
- Valve Core Tool — Removing the valve core for faster tire deflation
