What happens here
This project provides an overview of the 'Block-Bridge' gravity retaining wall system, an innovative method for constructing stable retaining walls up to 12 feet tall without the need for traditional geogrid reinforcement. The system utilizes specialized clips to interlock concrete masonry units (CMUs) behind the main wall blocks, with the void spaces filled with rock to provide structural integrity. This approach significantly reduces excavation and recompaction requirements compared to conventional methods.

(12,136 characters)i like that i love it you answered some of the best questions [Music] oh that is gorgeous [Music] oh dude that is awesome that is gorgeous to me what do you guys think oh so you can adjust the width on the fly out in the field okay so this machine should have yep fold down sides should probably take the tailgate down see if we can figure out how to get these sides hi guys how you guys doing good just trying to figure out how the sides fold down on this these don't fold oh the sides don't fold down so what is this they told what the box will extend forward i knew something folded come on give me a break man it had a transformer button here so i want to see how this worked and then these lock in oh dude that is awesome does any other utvs do that do you guys know not that i'm aware of and one of the key features here too is that it's open here so you can side down so if you have a small like the sco 1000 you saw over there yeah wanted to dump from the side our previous models always had a a bar there that came down so by removing that moving that forward then you have the capability flying as you sneak in but you can do it yep nice and then you have uh dump in either configuration very cool all right well thanks for showing me that you guys know bro all right guys i want to actually show you a different system for retaining walls when you get into larger walls they're all supported by what's called geogrid which is a geosynthetic material which lays out horizontally behind the wall and two foot increments and every for every one foot of wall height you got to have one foot behind the wall but that means if you've got an eight foot tall wall you've got to have four layers of grid eight feet behind the wall on average to compensate for the surcharge or for any other geostatic and loading that can happen you don't always have that space that's what i'm getting to that's a really long way of trying to get to that this guy came up with this system where he had i've seen systems like this before where he actually clips a set of cmu these are concrete masonry units that's what cmu stands for behind it and so the sheer weight of this helps to hold the wall together let's see if we can actually see how this goes underneath so if you take a look at these blocks so he's actually using hollow core blocks all the way up i don't i'm not a big fan of hollow core blocks period because if they get hit or anything like that they just damaged but the system is a viable system i've used different variations of this and this is just a simple clip that clips on to the main block eight to the anchor block behind it and then the void space gets filled with rock so you can actually see how they fill the void spaces right now on a very massive wall they have the capability of putting daisy chaining these blocks together but you get to the point where you start to ask yourself is is the extra block more effective than just using geo grid and there's just going to be certain applications where this may be an option and i think this is called the block bridge i want i just want to put this on your radar screen you guys so if you build bigger walls you got them six eight ten foot tall six foot wall five foot six a grid versus block bridge which is two foot six eight foot oh here they got an eight foot wall grid length six foot six that should be eight foot technically and that would that says a four foot i would never use a six foot six grid length in a wall but you can under certain circumstances but i wouldn't but that's it i guess space savings is the real deal okay so you can go 12 feet tall yes 12 feet tall without using grip without using grip how many rows how many courses of block do you then need daisy chaining behind it to go 12 foot um i can show you a drawing the all the drawings are right on our website okay all the engineer drawings but they're uh they're all right here so so 12 foot is the maximum height that you have it currently engineer two and you've got a five foot five five foot five uh support yeah setback so on a 12 foot tall wall if it was using grid would have a 12 foot grid length on it a little bit i'll be about uh at 75 percent so at 750 so it'd be about 99 feet you have to go back so this saves you about half of the extra 75 is what the industry standard is we do it one to one on all of our walls okay it's just overkill but when you're doing a bid and an estimate and you want to be on the cautious side a one-to-one is a very easy ratio to use and you know you're normally not going to go wrong unless you got a really heavy load on the back side of it so all right well thank you oh that is gorgeous to me what do you guys think there's a beautiful truck what is that got five axles those axles those pump caps don't even look real that looks plastic was a five axle truck called a quilt i think it's called the quint here five ten three tanks this is what kind of suspension is this it's got an air ride suspension too there's your air ride that was your airbag right there so when i'm at these shows i get i get the opportunity to talk to a lot of different people and i ask them what's the coolest thing you've seen and what you're about to see is one was pointed out to me as one of the coolest things at the show and tucked way way in the corner where you can't find it so let's just take a quick peek at what this is and this is the reason why this thing went right by me is because it's not in my wheelhouse man i'm not a tree guy so when i look at it sometimes i miss the coolest thing the guy that told me to check this out said that this will fit in a gate i don't know if it will or not but look how high look how skinny this is look let's go that could go all the way up to the roof so as an aerial lift for tree work this'll and he told me this is going off from what one of you guys has taught me about you know doing you know lifts and tree work was these tracks don't tear up the turf and don't quote me on it i've never had a chance to run one of these but um but then it's got these big stabilizers arms because it's a pretty small unit itself so it's got the big stabilizer arms which will come down and keep the the unit stabilized let's see what else can i tell you about it i don't even know how to pronounce that leguan laguan i don't know 190 62-foot hi yeah no worries is this product kind of in your wheelhouse then this product is in my dealer's wheelhouse but i know that it is a 62 foot reach and it's 125 000 how's that sound i like that i love it you answered some of the best questions yeah i didn't even ask you i'm like all right here you go oh how wide is it do you know i don't know um they i know that they were i can get one of the guys tri-state bobcat is our dealer for the chippers and the stump grinders so this one um oh no worries i have just basic information i don't need it you answered the two biggest things i wanted to know 62 foot reaching 125 000 yes that turns out to be like two hundred dollars a foot yeah look how high you can go and if it was like a 70 foot reach it'd be 140 000 piece of equipment thank you much appreciated all right i don't even know how to pronounce the name of it hopefully one of you guys knows more about it and can fill us in are they good bad or in between let me know about wait a minute part of avant group okay i should have seen the green screener right yeah there you go perfect that's just the skin for shipping normally it sits flat on the ground but okay so that's not normally in there but this one's all adjustable as you can see just as far as one inch increments oh so you can adjust the width on the fly out in the field yep yep okay bolts four bolts per bar so whatever size material you want yup you can do that yep yeah you tweak it to whatever you need like right now it's set up at two inch and then you can go down to one or up to whatever you want what does a unit like that run this one's 7400. 7 400 as is right here just like this okay and this is called the d rock by grizzly right d rocker d-rock grizzly and there's the information all right thank you sir thank you dude how are you good to see you again to see you man the only time we've ever met has been i know right yeah over every every time we do the every time we do trade shows we run into each other yeah yeah yeah yeah that's so cool are you doing a live show right now i didn't mean to interrupt you we're just coming on so it's actually his show i'm just kind of jumping on with him always doing his show so uh but yeah we've been we're broadcasting all day today and then we're broadcasting all day tomorrow as well so for turf's up radius so if you guys don't know turf's up radio where would they find trips up radio turns upradio.com turf turfradio.com make it easy and you guys do you're concentrated to the green industry yeah right yeah absolutely 24 7. okay and industry only yeah so yeah and that's hard that covers everything hardscaping irrigation lighting regular installs you know you name it so in fact we also have of course bookkeeping beer and bs is the show that's on right now so bookca so the name of this show is bookkeeping beer and bs yes yes and the bs stands where you think it stands for so yeah it's all about it's all about you know doing all the different all the different uh everything we can do how are you good good to see you again oh small world dude yeah small world yeah we always run into each other yeah are you around tomorrow too no i'm i'm gonna i'm gonna i'm heading to toro tomorrow yeah okay so rick when we were out snow plowing together was telling me about nokian tires on drug water and these are the actual ones you were talking about yes acapellitas yeah so they're psyched going across the top and they're super soft oh look at that imagine the weight of this tractor cat scratching they're that's the best i'm wondering how much a set of tires like that goes for i don't know if you can get them on your truck too we used to nickname them hockeys because a hakka polita such a long word go get some hockeys that's what we did in the 90s really yeah but but you're running um the bridge uh is your truck here rick uh you're running the the winter force winterforce exactly because i'm getting myself some winter forces after seeing your truck i actually tried to buy a a ram truck after yours just like yours you can't do it you can't get them nowhere but now you know a guy that leases them for 700 a month 750 a month unlimited mileage for a snowplow truck and you can put a plow on it at least one i got it i sold that truck that i was plowing with gone what i sold it and i leased the truck you sold your personal truck just at least one for that's right to put the hard miles on the lease vehicle that's right and i just give it back i want to do that 750. and they put their own plate on it i just put insurance on it so you can do like a six-month lease it's technically a 12-month lease or if you put 12 000 miles on it as soon as you got 12 000 miles they want to give you another truck the goal for them is to get 12 000 miles because they they're like hurts they get a bunch of trucks from ram yeah and then they cannot sell them until there's 12 000 miles so they lease them out and then as soon as it's 12 000 miles they want you to have another truck so they can sell the truck they have three dealerships what's the dealership honestly i don't remember and i don't know if i should be giving away our secret well yeah because then we won't have a truck to get it there's only so many of them that's true that is the truth three or four of them that's probably at least right there this one this is one of patrick's trucks i think so yeah they're all one tons and you cannot uh change what's in them that's because they buy like hundreds of them because i couldn't get uh the puck system in the bed of the truck and uh there they got leather seats heated seat heat steering wheel four doors one tons it's a real deal huh all right so if you guys know a great place to lease or get equipment or trucks from let me know
