What happens here
The installer begins by positioning a precut hardwood flooring plank into the doorway space. The plank is initially angled slightly to engage its tongue with the groove of the previously laid flooring. Following proper alignment, the installer uses what sounds like a rubber mallet or similar tapping tool to firmly tap the plank along its edge. This action helps to fully seat the plank into the adjacent plank and secure it flat against the subfloor, ensuring a tight, gap-free connection. This process is repeated for several small pieces until the entire doorway area is covered with the hardwood flooring.
