Stop Overspray! #shorts
What happens here
The video demonstrates how to efficiently spray paint the fascia board of a house while protecting the siding and windows from overspray. The painter utilizes an airless paint sprayer equipped with a long extension wand to comfortably reach the high fascia. To prevent paint from getting on the lighter-colored siding immediately below the fascia, a simple cardboard paint shield, securely attached to another extension pole, is held directly beneath the area being painted. The windows located below the fascia are pre-masked with plastic sheeting, which is visibly a 3M product, to ensure they remain entirely clean and free from paint. The painter applies a dark-colored paint, appearing to be black or dark gray, in smooth, controlled, and even passes along the length of the fascia. Both the spray gun and the cardboard shield are moved in a coordinated manner to maintain a clean, sharp paint line and ensure uniform coverage.
Goal: Apply paint to the fascia board while preventing overspray onto adjacent surfaces.
