What happens here
With the damaged section of the pipe successfully removed, a new female threaded adapter needs to be installed to facilitate the connection of the sprinkler head. First, the user threads a new adapter onto the freshly cut flexible pipe to ensure a proper fit and thread compatibility. Once the fit is confirmed, blue Teflon tape (also commonly known as plumber's tape or thread seal tape) is carefully wrapped around the male threads of the flexible pipe in a clockwise direction. This tape serves to create a watertight seal and reduces friction when tightening the connection. The new female adapter is then screwed onto the taped threads and tightened securely using a pair of tongue-and-groove pliers (also known as channel locks) to ensure a tight, leak-free connection that can withstand water pressure.
Goal: Create a watertight connection between the flexible pipe and a new adapter.
