What happens here

After smoothing the caulk, immediately clean the sponge by submerging it in the bucket of water and squeezing it multiple times to remove any residual caulk. Since the urethane acrylic elastomeric sealant is water-based, it cleans out of the sponge very easily and quickly. The goal is to keep the sponge as clean as possible for consistent performance. The presenter also reiterates the importance of ensuring the sponge is not excessively wet when used for smoothing, but rather damp, to prevent over-saturating the caulk or creating watery runs.

Goal: Clean the sponge and caulk gun tip, and ensure the sponge is properly dampened for continued work.
