What happens here
Once the soil is in place, you can proceed to install your chosen plants into the raised planter. The ingenious design of the geotextile fabric system ensures highly efficient water management. When you water the plants or during rainfall, moisture readily penetrates the soil, providing essential hydration to the plant roots. Critically, any surplus water will drain effectively through the permeable geotextile fabric, passing into the underlying stone layer. From this stone layer, the water then exits the retaining wall system as originally designed, preventing waterlogging of the plant roots and thereby safeguarding the structural integrity of the wall itself.
Goal: Establish plants and ensure the entire drainage system functions optimally
Tools and materials
- Plants — The vegetation to be installed in the prepared soil
- Trowel — Digging individual holes for planting and backfilling around root balls
- Watering Can or Hose — Providing initial and ongoing water to the newly planted vegetation
