Simple step with a big impact. Always light up your risers!

What happens here

After all the LED lights are physically installed, access the wiring from the backside of the deck structure. Connect the individual wires from each LED light to the main low-voltage power supply cable. This typically involves stripping a small amount of insulation from the wires (if not pre-stripped) and then joining them together with waterproof wire connectors. Twist the connectors tightly to ensure a secure and weather-resistant seal, which is crucial for outdoor installations. Organize the wiring neatly to prevent it from hanging loose.

Goal: Connect lights to power supply

Tools and materials

  • Pliers — To help twist wire connectors tightly and securely
  • Wire Strippers — To remove insulation from wire ends for making connections
  • Low-Voltage Wiring — Carrying power from the transformer to all the deck lights
  • Waterproof Wire Connectors — Securing and waterproofing electrical wire connections
