What happens here
Before laying the sod, ensure the soil is damp but not waterlogged. Use the sprinkler system to lightly re-dampen the topsoil if necessary. Begin laying the sod rolls in a brick-like, staggered pattern to ensure even coverage and prevent lines from forming. Use a roofing shingle knife to cut and shape the sod rolls as needed, especially around edges or obstacles. Make sure all sod pieces are butted tightly together without leaving any gaps, to encourage uniform rooting and prevent weed growth. After laying the sod, roll it to ensure good contact with the soil underneath and eliminate air pockets.
Goal: Install fresh sod to create a new lawn.
