What happens here

After allowing the initial coat of epoxy resin to cure, visually inspect the surface for any flaws, rough spots, or air bubbles that may have settled in. Use 60-grit sandpaper (or finer, such as 220-grit for a smoother initial pass) to carefully sand down these imperfections. The goal is to create a perfectly smooth and even surface that the subsequent epoxy layers can adhere to flawlessly. After sanding, thoroughly wipe down the entire surface with rubbing alcohol and a clean rag to remove all dust and debris, ensuring the surface is perfectly clean before applying the next coat.

Goal: Prepare the first epoxy layer for subsequent coats by sanding and cleaning.
