What happens here

Continue the construction by repeating the process of applying construction adhesive (Step 2) and carefully laying successive courses of concrete blocks (Step 3). As you build upwards, periodically check the entire wall for levelness both horizontally and vertically (plumb) using a level. This ensures the wall remains straight and stable. Once the desired height for the planter or wall is achieved, allow the construction adhesive to fully cure according to the manufacturer's instructions. Curing times can vary based on adhesive type and environmental conditions, but typically range from 24 to 72 hours for full strength.

Goal: Finish building the structure to the desired height and allow for full adhesive curing.

Tools and materials

  • Caulk Gun — Dispensing construction adhesive for subsequent layers
  • Concrete Blocks — All subsequent layers of the planter wall
  • Construction Adhesive — Bonding all successive layers of concrete blocks
  • Gloves — Protecting hands during block handling and adhesive application
  • Level — Checking the levelness and plumb of the wall as it's built
  • Rubber Mallet — Gently tapping blocks into final position and alignment
