What happens here
After the gravel has been spread and fills the grid cells, it's time for compaction and final grading. Use a plate compactor to carefully compact the gravel within and slightly above the grid. This helps to lock the aggregate into place, creating a firm and stable surface. Work in overlapping passes across the entire driveway. After initial compaction, perform a final visual inspection to identify any low spots or uneven areas, and add more gravel as needed, then re-compact. The finished surface should be relatively level and firm, providing a durable and aesthetically pleasing permeable gravel driveway.
Goal: Compact the gravel and achieve a smooth, stable, and level driveway surface
