If desired or necessary, spread an even layer of black dirt over the previously scarified and leveled subgrade. Then, make additional passes with the Ventrac Power Rake, adjusting its settings if available (e.g., reversing the tines as shown in the video) to thoroughly mix and incorporate the black dirt into the loosened clay subsoil. This action blends the organic material deeply into the existing soil, enhancing its texture, drainage, and nutrient content, providing an ideal environment for new sod roots to penetrate and thrive.
