What happens here

The video introduces a specialized compact utility machine called a Snowrator, operated by Jay. This machine is designed for detailed clearing, combining a snow plow blade at the front with a salt spreader at the rear. Jay demonstrates its maneuverability and efficiency in clearing pathways and tight spots. He also highlights its power and traction, which are essential for dealing with hard-packed snow and ice, especially in areas where larger equipment is less effective. Jay also mentions that while he used to use an ATV with a plow, the Snowrator offers significant advantages in performance and efficiency.

Goal: Efficiently clear snow and apply salt in tight spaces using a compact Snowrator.

Tools and materials

  • Ear Protection — Protecting hearing from loud machinery noise
  • Salt Spreader — Applying ice melt/salt
  • Snow Plow Blade — Clearing snow from pathways
  • Snowrator — Plowing snow and spreading salt simultaneously in detailed areas
  • Ice Melt/Salt — Preventing ice formation and improving traction

[Music] [Applause] [Music] say it hey what did you say I was gonna quit for yui oh man that was I was curious about that too how I would go through that I mean that snow's been there for a while yeah that's hard fact really bad and that went I float on it all yeah so that's that's the nice part I like that good power huh very nice power and good traction so it's got a good power to traction ratio yes yes okay everybody said that because that's yep yep on my Can-Am I'd probably be spinning really doing some of that stuff all right well it is pretty hard packed nasty crunchy stuff there's a fall in my cam is a [ __ ] durable that side wider what you can put the boss a boss uh plow on for a half ton pickup truck you can put it on this oh I'm not joking you can put a six foot six plow on this snow Raider there's any twitches that's they might it'll it'll fit right on Alden it'll fit right on it's kind of twofold it's nice to have it on the long sidewalks a lot of these smaller sidewalks yeah that's the way to go I think you know if I gotta go down and back it's not the end of the world you know it's not wasting that much time because I'm literally making a U-turn and going yeah you're just dink dink dink yeah you know and like the caribou and stuff yeah a bigger plow that would be nice yeah not the end of the world so the big question is is you plowed this for years with that Yamaha ATV in that Moose Country plow and you flew out and I was a little concerned that this goes eight miles an hour and you would be going 28. United with that but still I'm bouncing off the curb I have to bump back on this I can literally swoop off to the side and it's nice that the floss looks a little bit out farther you know so I can push it off at the edge and I don't have to pulch this thing okay four-wheeler I literally have to bulk off the curve and bulk back on most Applause for the can of the four wheeler so not that tough no they're junk they're jump you know after each year I would buy a new plow yeah you were buying a new car and you were going through five cutting edges a year or more yeah so a bad expense raise it up big time
