[Music] we got a pretty cool video coming out for you today guys we're gonna be putting on a new snow power F-14 and taking it up against a Western Plow just to see are they actually better or is 14 feet of clearing snow really not more efficient uh but well it's not without wasting more time let's get to the shop let's get a new F-14 stuck in place before we can do anything else so one thing at a time all right so we've got the truck stripped of both the front plow and the back plow but we've left the Western Mount uh now the plow we run on this one is a Western Bee plow how you doing Alex good morning feeling better yeah okay good all right so this supposedly now hooks directly up to boss and Western let's ask Jared so do we got to do anything special to the Mount here to get this snow power or this F-14 to hook up to it nope we got uh separate mulch to hook up right to the plow and they'll go right to the ones that you have on your truck will it also hook up to a Fisher it should yes now these use nitrogen right you know that right yep yep so if you guys aren't familiar with it the shock absorption system on this is not your standard shock absorption system it's nitrogen and the reason they use nitrogen is because it's a much faster reactant gas and it also does well uh in colder temperatures so these are the actual adapters right here these are the adapters okay so that's what it looks like so that's that's the part that allows you to hook up to just about any Western or Fisher plow whether it's the EXT or the v-plow so you take the western shoes out and slide directly into the without the shoes right and then that pin slides in to lock it in yep right so we are in iron Valley Equipment shop and it's a holiday so nobody is here so we get to look around but I need a new toolbox for the pickup truck and Alex is telling me to get a weather guard yeah weather guard oh yeah with the weather guard fuel tank yep yep the whole combination like weather guard like the people that put them floor liners in yeah yeah really yeah they make super high quality uh tool boxes and they have a push button on the side that's just bulletproof compared to like the levers with the flip latch like these levers right here they're better than these I don't know about those ones because these are these ones seem a lot more heavy duty here than the ones I'm like I'm talking about like the ones that are on the cheap like Tractor Supply brand ones like I have let's go back out and see how the install is going okay so why are you saying this is a much simpler harness wire harness than the Western oh I mean with the Western harness you can see down here you're spliced into the headlights the parking lot this is the Western harness yeah this is part of it yeah and then it goes to a module over there and then to the actual harness down here and this one is just simply a plug and play where you got 12 volt power and your controller wire is right here which it just ran straight down to here you know it doesn't get any simpler than that so it's just one wire two wires yep power and controller wire and you're not wiring into the headlights and that's that was part of what we were just talking about we were having problems with it yeah the Western wiring harness yep will happen with the actual connector for the where the headlights plug in it would burn out and instead of just splicing a new plug on there you actually have to replace the entire lighting section of the wire harness and it's almost 500 bucks for just to harness itself so this is it right here yep this gray wire here and this one gets hooked into power supply in your fuse box and is there a circuit on it yep there's a 10 amp views in here so the fuse will blow before you heard anything else okay I mean because otherwise the Western Plow has been pretty good I think it's been good I am a big fan of Western yeah they're one of the best plows out there in my opinion yeah I mean we used a Western Plow straight blade for 11 years and to re we rebuilt it a couple times and that's just a couple bolts pop the motor out pop a new one in everything was super easy everything about the Western is fairly easy for servicing wise on the plow itself when you get into the wiring inside the truck that's when we usually have to bring it in because that's a little bit more out of my pay grade at least yeah agreed from the ground to the center of the hole they say 14 to 18 inches we're about 15 and a half okay that gives me a rough idea where I could put these brackets on so the plow sits flat okay so what are you picking what are you doing over here usually between 15 and 16 inches I put these all the way to the top hole if that's a little bit lower I'll go down with this or if it's a little bit higher I'll go up one more hole okay and this closet's pretty flat okay we've been here 37 minutes and the install is done and you're not he's not rushing he's just kind of doing his thing the winter equipment is the best cutting edges we've ever used on any of our snowplows ever all right we've never had any single plow have anything come close to it not on our pushers not on our snow plows right nothing nothing especially the Western Plow I mean that was the biggest difference we noticed and I guess you know what on the winter equipment Arctic plow that one we haven't even seen any wear at all on there I know now we get to see how good of a job Jared does so just to be clear this truck used to have a Western Bee plow mounted on the front we took the plow off but left the Western mount in place and now we're putting on a snow power F-14 on to the Western Mount using a couple of adapters [Applause] [Music] I wanted to find out how the truck was handling going down the road to find an interesting surprise that something Alex notices right away down they have plow light that's not a head those aren't true headlights because you actually use your actual headlights so it rides long enough it rides low enough that you don't need your headlights on I mean you don't need you don't need to wire them into the headlights yeah yeah I'm just wondering if Dad is playing a role on it because I'm getting all two miles more to the gallon I mean that's crazy I reset it too so I'm driving around town stopping and going it got a pretty good average out of it already you know might even go up on the highway yeah all right well let me know all right I'll talk to you later I'll probably see you this evening all right so let's go over the Rules of Engagement okay what do you well so what are you rotting first off please oh I guess yeah so front plow only it was like an eight foot six Western Beef well right looks like it yeah okay so it's a western versus the Fisher F4 the Fisher the snow power F-14 and the Tactical Advantage goes to Alex for the size but you've only had 15 minutes on the plow so the actual being familiar with it goes toward Blade no back plow allowed in this case so it's front paw versus front plow Tim you want to show us how much snow we got because we got a good five six inches you got that much snow right there yeah it's probably four inches here but you must have came through and opened this lot up already I just did one little zip through but I'd say we got five six inches okay coin toss went to Blaine you get to choose which side you wanted first are we going this way yeah well see there's a divider line right there and one's going that way one's going this way this is Blaine's favorite lot this is one of his this is why we picked it this yeah you know this one with your eyes closed you each got a light pole to not hit okay so so Blade's taking that outside you each got one light pulled to avoid no none of this crap has to be done in here because you don't have it on that side and it's gonna be cleaned up just this okay just clean now it just blocked off let's get her clean and let's make it look halfway decent and we're just plowing how we normally fly off guys we got a whole whole long night of plowing ahead of us we don't need to drop any transmissions for oh Tim what do you call this plow transmission dropper starting positions all right Alex yeah do you start on that side for it that way Elaine I'm gonna have you start on this side to work that way that way you're not backing up into the exact same spot who do you want me to cover you want to cover the the no you want to see the F-14 I'll cover blade are you guys both ready so technically Tim nicknamed the new F-14 the dropper man look at that thing and typical Timmy fashion he worries about every little detail so he nicknamed this while the dropper even though it's never done any damage to anything we've ever owned yet so while Alex takes this side of the lot Blaine is busy on the other side of the lot with his eight foot two Western V plow pushing off the snow as fast as he can look at my draw with that light yeah a little draw didn't Alex bring the 14 already now he just went over a goofy dip it didn't really I mean it handled it fine but I felt in the truck yeah you went through it right where it hinged right where the hinge is so that dip right there don't let them push you don't let him get in your head man be nice you want my side now yeah yeah I want your side now you go oh what is Blaine doing come on Blaine come on back buddy you got a method he's got a method Lane's got a method we just went through like a snow thunderstorm so we just got dropped on just started lighting up a little bit right now but uh no no it was just heavy snow probably the heaviest I've seen it [Music] um you know oh I'd say we got between four and six right now and now it just lightened up but uh yeah we're still we're uh we're just playing catch up because it all dumped it once it's coming down like two inches per hour yeah but we'll have to get over to Augusta here eventually and do a open up it's it's in the plans it's just when um as soon as we can get there but foreign [Music] good all right well yep I'll talk to you later bye he's just spraying it this way he had a little method down there to make some extra room for the snow and for Less wind roads kind of pushed a little bit over there but who do you links ahead so far I'd say since it's like two passes to Alex's one I'd say Alex might be quite a bit ahead a little bit here I'd say right now Alex has got almost half his life 's got about a quarter of his life yeah would you say that has anything to do with the pattern blame chose or the plow well I mean he'd either be cleaning up more windrows right now or yeah I mean to clean that out on the end like that I feel like we're on race day right here clean that out at the end uh I think he uh with a I don't know if it helped or hurt him I think that to be honest I think I think cleaning that out yeah because now you're double cleaning right yep now you're now you're going over your own spots what happened to your wafer did it freeze down there it's just not coming up oh it came up it's sitting there oh okay well you need a whipper come here how many second delay did that cause [Music] that's a good minute good man put it back on okay we had to do Pit Stop curb oh he's getting down to his last pass curb and you know where the fire hydrants occur oh curb oh that hurt all at once did you feel that over here I felt it I bet that bracket that needs some Weld and felt it maybe if that's on the same side we have not had much time to lick our wounds I promise oh okay does that mean you get to hit him more that truck just dripping or is it actually crying right now is that it's probably we're not trying I think you're right I think the truck I think he's crying there's not much left over here this one's done we're gentle for you too all right watch out for the white pole in Frontier that's all you need to do all night right there let that plow do the work it's dripping yeah it's just water tears yeah I liked all that backflow would shine my wheels for me with all the snow up right here and then you roll through it like this it would literally Shine the rims up for you all right Tim you gotta be fly you think you can do any better a V plow yeah yeah you're saying an eight foot six plow against the 14 foot plow how about your back plow versus the front plow oh we could do that one uh so Blaine what do you uh what do you think happened I didn't have a wiper okay so I had to go to the pit stop my pit crew had to fix my wiper Hickory was a little slow so that so if we give you that extra minute we all just stand around for one minute yeah you think he'll catch right up to him no I even hit a swipe for him over there too foreign fork and then you give them a little tiny baby spoon and they're doing so much better but yeah it's not a regular size spoon no no that's just gonna bulk off it's not gonna cut down like this what's that the back wall you're not gonna it's not gonna pull this stuff like this you're just better Alex all right well I hope you guys enjoyed today's race give it up for Blaine for trying I gotta keep going I gotta get out of here where am I gonna take my nap at yeah all right guys it's technology so Tim hands it to me that's it for today God bless go get him you guys hope you enjoyed the race and uh you tell me was it a choice of pattern or a choice of plow or a choice of sides or what happened today that's it for this one catch you guys on another one
