What happens here

This video documents an improvised effort to retrieve a large log from a pond. Initially, the presenter attempts to lasso the log with paracord and a weighted sandbag, but the rope proves insufficient for the distance. He then wades into the cold water to directly secure the paracord to the log. Finally, a John Deere Gator utility vehicle is used to successfully pull the log from the pond's deeper section to the shoreline, although further equipment (a chain) is noted as necessary for full removal.

You're live. Hey guys, it's Josh Sty Ridge Farmer. This is going to be our first experience on a truly live farm ridiculousness. Okay, I today I've got a log out in the middle of the pond and I don't know if you can see it very well, but you're going to see in a minute. So hopefully we're going to retrieve this log with a piece of paracord and I got my cameraman Steve right here with me. He's shaking the camera. We're going to go over here. Come on, Steve. Let's show them what we're going to do. Uh, so we're going to take this paracord and we're tying it around one of these heavy sandbags right here. And this is a sandbag like you would use to throw a line up in a tree. And we used that earlier to throw a line up in a tree. So, let's see here. You already got one high. Guys, super chat's enabled on my channel. This is the first time I've ever used super chat. There's a button down there that says super chat. And I didn't know anything about it. As long as I'm live, you can click the super chat button and it gives me a tip. So, you can like choose a monetary tip on super chat. I have no idea how it works. How many people we got live on there, Steve? Three. Oh, 44. Okay, cool. So, this paracord is not long enough. It's good. We're going to go get some better paracord. I've got some more right here. 50. Folks, if you're going to buy paracord, don't be skimpy. For six bucks, this paracord sucks. Came off of, excuse me, for six bucks. This came from Lowe's, and it's not the best paracord. Okay, let's tie it together here. Now, the serious question we got to ask ourselves is, if I get this log to the edge of the pond and tie this paracord around the back of the gator, is the paracord tough enough to pull that log out? That's the question. So, I'm going to go over here. Hopefully, can everybody hear me? Okay. Anybody leave a super chat yet? A couple of them said hello. Hello, smiley face. Thanks for the smiley faces, guys. Yeah, your video is great. Good. All right, so we're going to try to toss this lasso it around the log without lassoing a dog. Now, Buddy's going to go after this. Buddy, come. Come, come, come. Come here. Lay down. Tracy says something's not working. Huh? Tracy said something's not working. All right, Tracy. All right, guys. So, we're going to lasso this log. Hopefully, I got enough without lassoing it. Dog. There it is. So, will it work? All right. So, the log is slowly moving toward me a little bit. This water is really cold, by the way. All right, I got the log. It's slowly moving toward. Can you see this? Come on up here and see. Now, if the dog will not wet the log, it would be awesome. Slowly moving. It's a pine log, buddy. Go. Lay down. Lay down. Somebody says the cord might not hold it. I don't know if the cord's going to hold it or not. We're going to find out how many people we got in the chat here. 76. 76 live. Live and in action. The world's slowest towing a log out of the pond. Now, this water is probably about waist deep right here. So, the goal is got to turn this whole log over here, get it over to the edge, and then I'm going to tie the paracord around the edge. Oh, man. We'll tie the paracord around the end of the log. Let's see here. Good luck. Still working. Slowly pulling it over. Let's see here. I need a grapple, guys. If anybody wants to send me a grapple in the mail, shoot me an email. I need grapple or a hook of some sort. Even a fish hook would have probably been better. All right. So, can you guys see that? That's getting closer and closer and I think we've reached terminal loggiosity here. It's not going to come any further. So, without further ado, I think I'm going to have to go in after it. Hold on. Let me get my wallet out of here. Steve, take my wallet. All right. You got your phone? Where's your phone? in my in your hand. That's right. Here it goes, guys. Gonna have wet shoes for a day or so. God, I want to go. It's not that deep. Oh god, I'm cold, though. All right, we're getting a knot on here. You're getting a video on my butt. It's chilly. All right, we got the paracord on there. And the dog has the fast food. All right. Here we go. Let's get her on the gator. Okay. Pretty stout paracord. I think we're going to need a bigger rope. Bring it over here, Steve. Let's see what kind of crazy knot we can tie. All right, guys. I think the knot here is going to be a just like this. Dog, please. Lord, get out of the rope. All right, new knife by Cobalt. All right, we're going to tie an oldfashioned fishing knot here. All right, star of the show is is my cameraman, Steve and Lexi. Lexi. All right. What you doing? What you doing? All righty. Get our extra rope up here. Steve, stand right here, buddy. About right there. Now, everybody see. Okay. Yep. Now, let's hope we don't snap the line and kill a dog. Here goes. Almost killed one dog there. Let's fire the gator up. Lexi right here. Start the show. Right here. [Music] There he goes. Put her in low four. All right. [Music] Well, the paracord's getting it. Get ready to duck. Oh, it coming out. Yeah. to look back. Go there to log [Music] dude. All right, guys. So, down here, there's the paracord. Here's the gator. Stand right back here, Steve. Got 101 people in here watching and the dogs do not sense the danger in this ridiculousness. All right, hold it right there. Come on. Come on. Lay down. Lay down. Lay down. Stay. Stay. Stay. [Music] live feed at the Stony Ridge Farm Pond where we've got a log this big that we got to drag out. We're going to have to get a chain to get this thing out. So, maybe we'll throw up another live feed. You guys stick around for the next 10 or 15 minutes. We're going to go get a chain and give her another shot. All right. Thanks a lot. 102.
