Painter Tool Review. Crocodile Cloths FoamBeak and the Bucket Scoop

today is tool talk Tuesday I'm Christy Idaho painter here on paint live TV today I'm going to be introducing you to three more products and today I'm going to be talking about crocodile claws I'm going to be talking about the foam beak and I'm going to be talking about the foam Pro spatula I'm going to be talking I'm starting off talking about the spatula by foam Pro and so set some things aside here and give you a demonstration of what this device is what it does this tool and um whether I would actually purchase it and put it in my vehicle so first off here it is it's um they call it a spatula right here what this thing does is it scrapes the inside of a bucket so you don't waste your pain you want to get all the paint out of the bucket I gotta say two days paints are extremely expensive you could be paying up to a hundred dollars a gallon that means a five gallon bucket of paint uh you could be I know when we scrape the buckets out you could almost scrape about a half of a pint of paint out of there and that's you know quite a bit the money you can see in this bucket it wasn't scraped down there's some paint dried down inside the bucket right there so it's always a good good idea to scrape your buckets out and so that's what this tool does so the tool itself you can either take a one gallon stir stick you can stick it on there now this becomes a tool you can scrape out your bucket you can also take a five gallon stir stick right here you can stick it on there and this begins uh becomes a tool that you would use to scrape your buckets I got the stir stick um on here hooked on here and you know it's kind of got a flexible flexible sharp blade on it and I'm going to use it and just start scraping my bucket out with this tool right here so I can do it once again with a five gallon stick or a um one gallon stick the five gallon stick is it wedged in there you know fairly hard um by compression the one gallon stick sticks in there and it seems like it sticks pretty good and it's not going to come out if you do try to um use a stir stick that's been used before I did notice you can't even get it in here so you're gonna have to use a stir stick that doesn't have you know any paint on it now is this a tool that I'm gonna go walk out to my trailer or walk out to my truck or van to get to scrape out the bucket so um I've used this practice of scraping out my one gallon cans and my five gallon buckets you know my entire career because they don't want to waste paint I don't want to put paint in the landfill and um I just want to save money it's just good practice to keep in your margins you know higher I typically would just use a brush and I'm going to scrape out the paint with a brush I always got a brush with me typically when I'm painting so it's very simple and easy to just take a brush out of your two gallon bucket and then scrape out your five I mean you'll have maybe when you're spraying like three or four or five gallon buckets that need to be scraped out you know when you're spraying a house or you know if you're using your one gallon bucket we're just going to scrape out our one gallon bucket with our brush you know at the end of the day so we're not wasting pain so I mean it is it's an interesting tool um they do actually work it scrapes out you know the paint you know uh fairly efficiently uh down in the corner it gets down in the corners very good but I'm not going to walk out to my vehicle just for this device and hunt this device down you know because I got I got a tool that's going to be able to scrub scrape it out efficiently I think this thing might get a tiny bit more paint out of there but then you also got to consider now I've got to clean this tool off also so it's just another tool I've got a wash and clean when I'm already using a brush you know probably with that color um at the end of the day I'm just going to scrape it out with a brush and I'm gonna have to clean that brush out anyways so it's not something I'm going to add to my vehicle it's it's interesting if you is one of these things before and you think they're a good tool worth putting in your vehicle just let us know in the comment section below um I'll look it up I don't even know how much one of these things cost um I didn't purchase this one I was at a um show a hardware show I was given it by one of the vendors to me as a sample brought it home just wanted to talk about it here on the video so I don't know if it was a couple dollars I probably still wouldn't spend it because I just you know the space in my vehicle is um very expensive and so to take space up with a tool like this I'm just not going to do it because um I do have stir sticks in my truck always but um I'm just not going to have to go hunt for the surf stick and hunt for this tool to scrape out my bucket all right the next product I'm going to be talking about here that I would highly recommend is crocodile cloths now I've got two versions of them I've got the original cloth and then I got the crocodile cloth paint right here and um I'm calling them cloth the crocodile cloth some people refer to them as wipes but um crocodile cloth refers to them as cloths I'm going to show you one of them and as a painter I highly recommend you have some type of um cleaning cloth or wipe in your vehicles I use these things for a lot of different things I use them to clean my sprayers I use them to clean my hands at the end of the day I use them to clean my vehicle um my rims on my vehicle I use them to clean up uh paint over spray if we get over spray on gutters if we get overspray or paint splatters on Floors vinyl floors tile hardwood floors they're an amazing cloth you can see the cloth how big it is biggest cloth I've ever purchased and used before extremely durable I like how soft they are they they don't have a an abrasive feel to them so they're not scratchy to my skin they actually use them to wipe my face off at the end of the day after spraying all day long and wearing a respirator they're super durable they don't tear very easy I'll show you just try to punch my finger through how durable that is I'm pushing on that pretty hard and it's not tearing it's a durable cloth the other thing I like about them is they are super wet so there's a lot of moisture in the crocodile claw so it gives you the ability to clean for quite a while having it extremely wet they'll clean up dried paint that's what I like a lot about them you get dried over spray you get dry paint you know on your on sprayers the likewise sprayers looking you know really nice and clean you know clean it right off I do have some paint on this table because I was doing a video stripping uh paint and I got paint on the table and it's taking it right off it's not going to damage the finish on my table either so they are the crocodile gloss highly highly recommend you using these gloss keeping them in your vehicle for a multitude of different uses all right the third and final product I'm going to be talking about today is the foam beak so this is kind of a really cool product and so I did have somebody recently say what does this thing have to do with painting because it's sold at paint live Supply Co a paint store so um phone Pro this is something that I keep in my vehicle you know um or my trailer all the time because we do use it to fill large holes to give backing to go over with our spackle and stuff like that we use the uh fill cracks and concrete and a lot of different things before we um begin putting in like our au1 Caulking and stuff like that so it's some there's a lot of different things we use this for and when you spray your foam it's going to come out of this your little tube right here it's eventually going to expand the foam beak what the foamy does is you'll put this on the end of your tube and instead of coming out of a little tube and given this little small bead it actually spreads it out into a three inch wide um swath okay so what what does that actually do uh when you take and you try to spray your foam overhead like on the ceiling on the small bead doesn't adhere to the ceiling because it doesn't have a wide enough path and have enough adhesive to actually um give give it the ability to hang up there you can put it on the foam beak on this tube now I can spray it on a ceiling in a three inch wide Gap and it's actually going to hang on a horizontal surface you know overhead but one of the things that this thing was actually invented for was um insulating showers before you actually install a shower so how do you install a shower on before you you'll put it in if you try to do it just with the tube itself it literally would just take you forever because this this little tiny pop now you can have this three inch path and you can insulate a shower really fast you can insulate um a hot tub really fast but it just gives you the ability to throw it out in this three inch path right here it comes in a three pack and somebody asked me you know how how do you clean the thing you don't clean it you just throw them away when you're done just like um you know great stuff I've never been had success with using a half a can of great stuff before spray foam and then um you reusing it again because it always dries inside the tube and it also dries inside the can so we typically toss the can so there you have it another tool talk Tuesday so would I have these three products or Tools in my vehicle [Music] how about you would you put them in your vehicle
