We'll blame all that rust on Uncle Rob because I kept it in the garage when I had it. Oh no, he threw up on my hat. People might judge me for this, but I like driving through Kansas. I think it is. So, about to hit the road. Street car takeover kickoff party in Omaha. Everything loaded up. Uncle Rob is on the trailer ready to rock. Tuned on 93. Got all the merch, everything. It was quite the process. Um, just about to hit the road. Should be a fun drive. Well, we're on the road. What did I just do? Hit um some cardboard or something. You might have to speak up. No. What did I do? You hit some cardboard. Yeah, I hit some cardboard. Now it's stuck to the trailer. I don't know if you guys could see it, but yeah, it'll fall off eventually, probably. So, there was some really bad traffic um on 35. Gall goes down to one lane. It was standing still for several miles. So, I'm like, you know what? I don't want to sit in that. I'm just going to take the exit. And if there's anything I've learned from doing race week and drag week, it's that there are roads that go places that are not the interstate. So, hopped off and we're taking a detour through at the next stop sign. Turn right. um probably what is about the middle of nowhere and it's probably going to be significantly longer. But even if it works out to be the same amount of time, I'd rather be seeing new things, nice scenery and stuff than sitting in traffic on the interstate. So that's what we're doing. I think we're near Paul's Valley, Oklahoma. I know some of you probably know where that is, but this is a heck of a lot better than sitting in traffic on the interstate. We are still circumventing traffic. Do you want to film? Sure. So, if you can see here, it wants us to get back on the interstate right into a red spot of standstill traffic. Active camera duty. like not paying attention. But we're not going to get it back on the highway. We're going to take Ballard Road, which is the service road cuz you can follow it all the way up here and it have another merge. You get an on-ramp up, you know, a mile and a half up the road past the red spot. So, in one mile, turn right to merge onto I35 North. You know what? We're not doing that cuz you want me to sit in traffic, Siri. That's what you're supposed to do. Because if you funneled everybody around the actual quickest way to get somewhere, you would clog up little towns and uh you're not allowed to do that. So, you funnel people into traffic. I'm not listening to you. You'll learn a little bit of everything on this channel. Management donut land. Management donut. Oh, new management. Oh, I didn't see that part. Donut land is learn new management. It's not management donut land. Well, I didn't see the new part. It was a different color. It should be management donut land. That was funny. For those of you who don't know, Paul's Valley is very close to Winniewood, which is where all the Tiger King BS was uh happening. Also, fun fact, I never watched that documentary. Whenever I started seeing all the memes about it, uh I'm one of those people that just won't do something just because everyone else is doing it. So, I refused to watch it on principal for literally no reason other than that. I sent you so many funny memes and you didn't think they were funny because you didn't know. Yeah, that was when we like first started talking during the the lockdown. If there was no lockdown, we might not even know each other because I think like wasn't really anything to do. So, we talk a lot. Yeah. Continue straight then use the right lane to merge onto I35 North. Haha. No, we are not getting on the I35 north. There before. Turn left on there. Was it nice? No. McDonald's. Fun fact, that Jeep Teal in that parking lot there is a like a dead ringer to the wrap on the Escalade right there. See? Oh, the bikini blue. Yeah. Seth's widely. See, look how slow all the cars are going on the the highway. Hell no. And we're just rolling. Suck it. Just pulling on them. Work smart, not hard. Actually, work hard smartly. I guess the motorcycle cops are out. What? Were they on the highway? Yeah. I don't get it. It's looked the same for years. I wouldn't know. I've only been habitating this region of the country for 2 years now. Almost 2 years. When I would drive through there like 2 3 years ago, it was like that in the same spot, bundled down to one lane, and it was a giant cluster. It's nice to know they get a lot done out here. I bet that part in Oklahoma City is still clogged up, too. Yeah, probably before Broadway in Edmond. Is it okay to say badge on YouTube? I think you can say badge. Yeah, [laughter] you can chill on the OKC badge. Yeah, we'll we'll have to show you that. Wait, are we even going that way? No, I don't think we will actually cuz we go straight north from OKC like to uh Kansas. Turn left on east. No badge for you. Maybe on the way back. Merging now. wide load over eight feet prohibited. So, uh, some of you guys moms won't be able to use this on-ramp. Wow. It's still one lane here. So, that sucks. Straight. That dumb wasn't going to slow down. You just made her slow down. Sometimes you have to. You guys who drive stuff like large rigs with trailers, speak up in the comments. Do you or do you not have to just do it sometimes? Like people, you just have to make people slow down cuz they just won't get out of your way. It It just It'd be like like that. Mhm. Okay. Well, looks like we're free and clear now. Seems the orange part stops past this creek here and then starts up again there. But at least we're moving. I think uh I think that was a win. Boom. Titties learned something today. We're somewhere in the middle of between Oklahoma and Kansas. And I'm talking to my dad on the phone. He wanted us to know if he would be in the video. So I said, "Sure." And I turned the GoPro on and stuck it in my face. Now I'll put it up there. You can say something. Subscribe to Mitchell's channel. Buy the t-shirts at www.sta stapletonautoworks.com and do your part. How was that? That was good. I'd just like to tell them for the record, I didn't tell you to say that. I had no idea what you were going to say. So, I had no idea what I was going to say until I started talking. That's what I do every time I turn the camera on. So, maybe that's where I get that from. Yeah. I don't know. What else am I going to say to your viewers that would be of interest to them, you know? How do you feel about your old Yukon is now a internet recognized turbo racetrack? I think it's really cool. Some of the people that I've been working with for years are like, "Oh, and I rode with that and you with that thing." And you know, we've done a lot of miles in that thing. I put 110,000 miles on that truck before we sold it to Uncle Rob. Uh, it's cool. Yeah, it's funny. I forget about that a lot of times when I'm working on it and rust is falling in my face. I'm just like, "Dang it, I hate this freaking thing. Piece of crap." And then I'm like, "Oh, well, you know that I deal with that because it is what it is. There's no way I'd willingly subject myself to working on something that aggravating to work on." So, it's worth it, though. We'll blame all that rust on Uncle Rob because I kept it in the garage when I had it. [laughter] Yeah, you did. It lived outside under his his ownership. Yeah. The history of the vehicle when when Mitchell bought it from my brother, but you can tell that story, Mitchell, right? Yeah. There's a whole there's a video on that of the day I bought it or airquote bought it. I gave him a dollar in the notary parking lot and then he made a trading places joke and was like $1. You ever see the movie Trading Places? Yes. Fun fact, out here in the middle of Kansas, they have bridges just for cows. That's what this is. Yeah. This is like a scenic pulloff, but um this bridge I think it's a cattle bridge. Yeah. to bazar cattle crossing. That particular one has a pulloff, but they don't always. Some of them are literally just there's like grass over the highway and that's it just for cows. It's pretty neat. I really like this part of Kansas. It's People might judge me for this, but I like driving through Kansas. I think it is like very scenic and pleasant like this. As long as it doesn't smell like Yeah, if it doesn't smell bad. The Flint Hills part Majority of Kansas smells hollow. Yeah. Like if you go through west to Kansas, but if you're going through the Flint Hills area, like going from OKC to Witchah to Peeka and that kind of region of Kansas like this, I like this park. Especially in the spring summertime when it's all green. It's uh it's less fun to look at when everything is dead in the winter. Oh, just filling up here in Emporia, Kansas. I think we're not going anywhere. Good. We're checking the straps. Always got to check the straps when you're towing something. Yeah. You want to Nice bow. She did that. It's mine versus yours. Yeah. Well, I didn't tie a bow. I just kind of looped it. Just go through doop and then through there and back cuz then the wind and if you look at yours compared to mine yours looks neater and it looks like it busted your like a fifth grader did it. Yeah. I guess the right way to do it is to like kind of roll it up nicely and zip tie it or something. You can kind of like slide it up and down or what I really want to do is get a designated set of straps for this, you know, Uncle Rob Escalade, Uncle George, and cut them and singe the ends so they're the right length all the time. And then if I strap on something else, I use different straps for that cuz most of what I do is the same configuration every time. My routine is I pull up until the back tire gets to the license plate here. And I know that the weight distribution, you know, toes nicely cuz the axle's pretty far back on this trailer. So, if I'm too far forward, then it puts a lot of tongue weight on. And I like to keep it back just to, you know, take some spot off the truck. And I also got helper bags on here featuring my plasti dip bumper from 6 years ago. And it looks like we are full. Can we make it 6069? I like it. Yes. Did it Yeah. Pull it out fast so it doesn't fly, you know, get on the paint. Even though the the truck stop that we went to before doesn't all over it, but it's whatever. I didn't even ask her to do that. She just did it. Nice. Oh no, he threw up on my hat and my phone case. Why do you hate me? That's my original hat. That was the first It was already disgusting. Yes. That's why it's important because that's my like OG. That's the very first saw hat I ever had. That was my main work hat. No, you clean it. I don't want to. Yeah, I don't want to either. You know, I purposely shoved it further under the seat cuz it was slid out there earlier and I thought if he throws up, I don't want it to get on there. Jokes's on me. He got it anyway. Stop. I didn't film the last throw up episode. Much bigger. Yeah, there were probably like 4 lbs of I used half the thing of bleach wipes. I don't know how he has anything left because he ate part of the other vomit, I think. Oh, nice. Well, we are in Nebraska now. I'm about an hour and 10 minutes away from the track. I like these two lane roads through the middle of nowhere. They're freaking straight, flat, nice, and typically have a pretty high speed limit, which you can go faster than anyway cuz there's nothing out here. You just kind of bomb. I'm a fan. pulling in now. I guess uh they're running test and tune unrelated to the event, but we got to figure out how to get across here without getting in the way. No, now we are on the way back to the track from the hotel. Uh, it's probably like 7:15. My clock usually set ahead, but uh, vendor gates open at 7:00. We're only a little bit behind, which is okay. We should still be fine cuz Spectator doesn't open till 10:00 or so, so there won't be a huge line. But, uh, we'll be able to get in and get a good, uh, good spot, get all set up before everybody starts showing up. Perks of being a former employee, you get uh, you know, how everything works. So, it' be interesting to see how this event does. They've never had the kickoff party anywhere but a parking lot in Kansas City, usually Arrowhead Stadium. which for some reason they couldn't do it there this year so it's here and there's racing kickoff party's never had racing before Rob Maiden voyage real maiden voyage I guess I don't think yellow belly counts with the half blown up transmission but are you ready ready you ready to slang some shirts in person Yep. Are you sure you're prepared for this? Yep. Well, now we got our spot sort of right next to 1320. We have to unload and set up. We have to set up the tent. I've never had an easy up to sell merch from before. Never. This is all new for me. So, I think we're going to put Easy Up stuff like right here and then pull Uncle Rob right there. Then we'll have access to the truck while we're doing stuff. I think it'll be all right. I don't know if you can see there's lots of knats here. I uh sprayed my legs with bug spray cuz I don't know, maybe some of you guys have this problem, too. When you get bug bites, they just explode. Like, yeah, sucks. But we're powering through. Let's get this thing unloaded. All right, that does it for the behind the scenes uh travel video. Make sure you stay tuned for the next day when we race Uncle Rob. Or not the next day. I guess this video leaves off at the beginning of the next video. Uh we race Uncle Rob. We actually raced Kyle from 1320 in his Yukon Denali. Uh, it was a lot of fun. You're going to want to see that video. We had a lot of fun. I hope you guys had fun watching this, seeing a little bit of uh behind the scenes of stuff that we do or kind of how that all works. I've never done an event um with Logan before, like that kind of event anyways, where we had to set up and do stuff. That was all new for both of us. And I'm glad you guys were there for the journey. Someday we'll go back and look at this video and be like, "Wow, this is the first time they did that. Like, look how bad they were. Look what they didn't know what they were doing." And I'm going to watch that and think, "Those are the good old days back when it all started." And if you're here for it right now, you'll be able to say you were there in the beginning. And I'm grateful for every single one of you. You might be wondering, why are all the shelves behind me empty? Well, we brought every single piece of merch that we had to the event. So, but we didn't sell all of it. Still got some. Order more. So, you can go to staplesworks.com. Link is in the description and pin in the comments and uh hook yourself up with a super awesome Uncle Rob shirt. We had these at the event. The Uncle Rob shirt. Um the flag hoodie, the flag shirt, same graphic, both things. And the Dale Earnhard style pit crew shirt. This is the back. The front looks the same. It's supposed to look like the 1988 pit crew stuff. Anyway, probably heard me explain that before. Stay tuned for the next video to find out what Uncle Rob runs on the eighth mile.
