Open Trailer Shopping: Maxxd N6X vs TopHat 20' Car Hauler

What happens here

At the dealership, the presenter conducts a detailed physical inspection and comparison of both the Maxx D N6X and Top Hat trailers. He notes the Maxx D's superior build quality, highlighting its full powder coating on all surfaces, including the underside, which promises better rust prevention and aesthetic longevity compared to the painted finish of the Top Hat. The Maxx D also features a shorter tongue, which improves maneuverability, an area for a winch plate (which he plans to install), and bolt-in D-rings (tie-down points) that are easier to replace if damaged than welded ones. Additionally, the Maxx D has integrated taillights flush with the side ramps. Conversely, the Top Hat trailer is shown with a wooden deck and a painted underside that lacks the comprehensive finish of the Maxx D. The presenter finds the Top Hat's deck less stable, noting it 'squishes' and shifts when walked upon, indicating potentially weaker bracing underneath.

Goal: Evaluate the physical attributes and compare specific features of both trailer models

what they look like when I get there so I've been looking at both of these for a little bit and there is the max D right there and then that one's the top hat and I'm gonna go with the max D even though it is $1,000 more because it's all powder coated everything even the underside I don't know how well you can see that but it's it's a better finish that's adjustable which isn't really a big deal but it the before stage powder coating is a big deal to me because this one is just painted and if you look underneath it is not the same as it is on the top like they didn't cover everything so to me I perceive this one wearing out and looking cruddy pretty easily whereas that one's gonna stay looking nice if you go up with the aluminum the powder coat it's gonna hold it shine better on top of that this one has a shorter tongue and that compared to that one so not only will like I'll be pulling it behind Motorhome so it's gonna be tight if I need to back up and reposition somewhere bring to be able to do it I'm gonna have more room with the max and there's more room up here to put a toolbox or like a deck with spare tire winch plates already on there not a huge deal but also as cool as these bolt in instead of weld in on that one so if it breaks you can replace it easier and the taillights are integrated into these side ramps where the top hat does not have that so you can bang your leg on a go one way or the other the ramps are set up about the same now I just think this is a better unit I mean look how nice it is under there it's all powder-coated everything get it all loaded up now and even just like walking on the deck I can like jiggle like shake back and forth and I can feel that the jack kind of move on the ground like it's not a stable in the top half and I could feel the deck itself moving on the bracing underneath it like it'll squish down a little bit nah you're like crunch like there's this like little bit of surface rust between it and on under bars where the max it doesn't move like that so it just just feels more solid I think it's worth the extra money in the long term so as you know I went
