Unscrew and remove the tub spout from the wall once more. Examine the diverter mechanism within the spout. This particular Delta diverter has a cap that can be unscrewed, revealing a threaded rod and an O-ring. The video shows trying to tighten this assembly, but it does not resolve the diverter issue. It's then discovered that the diverter mechanism has a separate internal piece that can be pulled out. The individual parts of the diverter are removed for closer inspection, looking for anything that might be broken or missing.
