Helping A Friend Out With A Clogged Bathtub Drain!

all right so we get down in here let's see what we got it's got a little cover on here oh we got we got this whole thing is completely clogged with hair hey folks that fix it guy here and today we're going to be looking at a partially clogged tub shower drain all right i brought the ridgid power spin plus over just in case i'm pretty sure that it's gonna be hair but we'll see as we get into this i don't know my friend texts and said hey brian do you know anybody that does nasty type plumbing i just started laughing like what do you got and i said well i got a little free time i'll come over i'll check it out and we'll see what we got all right so come along let's get to fixing if we get down in here you can so i don't know you can't really see that so much down in there but really it's packed all right we're actually going to remove the overflow and we're just going to try to pull it out through there that way it just makes it a little bit easier on ourselves all right because that's going to be a little hard honestly it probably would take us just as long to try to sit there and pick all that out as it will to just pop this out and run our snake down there real quick so we'll grab the rattlers the six and one my channel lock here and apparently mine's the only one that makes that noise and we're gonna end up pulling out this whole overflow assembly that just pops right out set that aside now with this rigid power spin plus it's so nice that it's on this drill really it is it's awesome i love that you can do that or you can use it as a hand crank it comes with that as well but literally all we have to do is run this out we don't have to touch the cable it's pretty nice i think we should be able to feel when we grab that clog i might even be able to see it down in there we don't really have to go too far so a lot of times the clog in this is actually going to be right here in this arm that goes down and connects to this t or maybe just a little bit past it at the trap but really i bet it's just right down there at that t and we're gonna be able to just run it down and get this hooked right up [Music] yeah so just me pushing that i've already seen movement down here get that to right there and now i got to do is put this in forward and just pull the trigger get it to start turning grabbing the hair oh yeah it's grabbed it's totally ground and now well actually i won't move it anymore and i'm just going to take this if i don't destroy my camera setup that was quite the balancing act all right so now i got my camera set up all put back together [Music] we can just grab this and just pull it out [Music] let's see how much hair we pulled out of here oh oh not tons but we definitely got a clog all right oh man yeah that is thick thick thick thick thick thick thick i will be sending her a link for either the tub shroom or the tub rella after this because definitely going to want one of those have a towel or some paper towels or something a lot of times when you're snaking you might want to use leather gloves because i'm really not grabbing that too much if i was if i actually had to manhandle the cable i would be wearing leather gloves it is a good idea okay just reverse that so i put that in a little bit and now we'll just reverse it out i'll get it to a certain point here and i'm just gonna pull it out okay well you know what it wasn't too horrible definitely at a clog but nothing too bad in it now let's get all this let's just get this let's get all this gunk removed out of here let's run a little water down that drain see what we got oh yeah we'll go ahead we'll pop this back in place and that's gonna all just kind of slide down there get it exactly where you need it put the cover back on the drain you don't want to lose a screw down there i did a glove change and i can't get the clothes and we'll just get those put in get them started just get these snugged down i'm going to fix that today too we'll see [Music] they don't have to be crazy over tight but just make sure you get them to where they're snug and we should be good to rock and roll there so now we've got the tub filled up about a quarter of the way just give it a drain let's see how it rolls yeah i can tell you that's way faster than what it was before the other part of this test is we'll kind of give the shower curtain a close and then we'll crank this on i got that shower line did you guys spot the problem with the diverter maybe that's another video coming up as well all right so if you look inside this toilet you can see that the flush valve gasket is jacked dude and actually so is the fill valve gasket and then check this out i decided to flush it once and it blew my mind [Music] right oh it's awesome future video for sure all right folks so we got the partial dub drain unclogged right that little bit of a clog sometimes it's easier to just go ahead pop the overflow off and put your cable down it and clear it out that way than it is to sit there and try to pick out all the stuff out of the tub drain that cross can be a bear right i really hope you folks are enjoying the videos please subscribe
