What happens here
Before beginning the heavy clearing work, the operator gets into the Gehl RT210 skid-steer loader. He starts the diesel engine and allows it to warm up to its optimal operating temperature. While the machine warms up, he points out a rattling noise from a side panel, acknowledging it but prioritizing the main task. He then drives the Honda Foreman ATV down a trail to further survey the lower section of the land. This ATV ride helps to identify specific obstacles like a large maple stump and dirt humps from previously fallen trees, which need to be smoothed out to create a straight, accessible path. He also re-evaluates the steepness of the terrain, recognizing potential challenges for the skid-steer.
Goal: Prepare the heavy machinery and conduct a detailed reconnaissance of the terrain.
