What happens here
The video introduces the Manitou (red) and Gehl (yellow) skid steers, focusing on their unique 'Ideal Trax' system. This patented system provides automatic track tensioning using the machine's hydraulics. When the engine starts, the tracks automatically tension to the proper level. When the engine is shut off, the tracks relax, reducing constant tension on components and extending their lifespan. For changing a track, you 1. Remove a small stop cover at the front of the track assembly (secured by two bolts). 2. Press a small switch at the rear of the machine, near the engine compartment, to reverse hydraulic flow. 3. Start the engine to retract the idler, allowing the old track to be removed. 4. Install the new track. 5. Flip the switch back and restart the engine to automatically re-tension the track. 6. Replace the stop cover. This system eliminates manual greasing and guesswork, simplifying track maintenance and replacement.
Goal: Understand the benefits of the Ideal Trax auto-tensioning system and its simplified track changing procedure.
