What happens here
Once the first cut is complete, the operator removes the initial slab from the log. He points out an imperfection, a 'knob' (or burr), that ideally should have been removed beforehand. He then pours water onto the fresh cut surface to enhance and reveal the natural beauty of the white oak's grain. This highlights the potential aesthetic value of the wood.
Goal: Evaluate the quality of the first cut and prepare for further milling
