MUST KNOW INFO!...How to Replace a Leaky Outdoor Water Faucet

What happens here

Take the new sillcock (which should be the same size and style as the old one). First, wrap Teflon tape (thread seal tape) around the male threads of the new faucet in a clockwise direction, for at least three full wraps. Then, apply a layer of pipe dope (such as Megaloc brand thread sealant) over the Teflon tape. This combination provides a strong, leak-proof seal.

Goal: Apply Teflon tape and pipe dope to the threads of the new faucet to ensure a watertight seal upon installation.
