Muddy, Messy French Drain

What happens here

Backfill the trench with the previously excavated dirt (or new topsoil). The skid steer is used to push the dirt back over the gravel-filled trench. Carefully spread the soil to avoid disturbing the underlying gravel and fabric. Once the trench is mostly filled, the final layer can be spread by hand using rakes to ensure a level and smooth surface, ready for sod. The video shows the use of a Hydro Bucket attached to the skid steer for precise dirt grading, minimizing damage to the surrounding turf.

Goal: Cover the French drain with soil and prepare the surface for landscaping.
