Mowing Thick, tall grass on the impossible Site - This Is oddly satisfying.Steep slope with washouts

What happens here

Once the hillside is cleared of dense brush and mulched, a Bobcat T180 skid steer loader with tracks is brought in to finish preparing the terrain. This machine is used to scrape down the slope, removing remaining small stumps, logs, roots, and uneven spots. The skid steer effectively regrades the area, setting the debris to the side. The project leader notes that no materials were hauled out or brought in (except for one load of black dirt provided by the customer), emphasizing that all existing materials were managed on-site to prepare the slope for new seed and a new lawn.

Goal: Scrape, regrade, and prepare the cleared hillside for new landscaping.

Tools and materials

  • Bobcat T180 Skid Steer Loader Bobcat — Scraping, regrading, and removing stumps/debris
  • Bucket Attachment Bobcat — Moving dirt and debris
  • Black Dirt — To amend the soil for new grass (provided by customer)
  • Grass Seed — For new lawn installation

the way down to the pond. Well, after we got the new belt, the mowing went pretty fast. We got the entire hill done in probably 4 hours total time, but that just left more time for Tim to go play in his favorite piece of equipment, which is an excavator. And this is a skid loader. So, he got to play in his second favorite piece of equipment, which is a skid loader. And this was a really steep site, but uh we pulled out the skid motor with tracks, didn't have much problem, and got the rest of the hill scraped down to nothing and prepared for new seed and new well, yeah, grass. So, here's something I always like to try to include in my videos to help you guys out. The total for this project was around 5,000 bucks. That included clearing all of the slope of vegetation, then scraping the slope down, setting the debris to the side, regrading the slope, removing all of the stumps, and setting it for prepping it for a new yard. There was no materials hauled out or in, except for one load of black dirt, which was provided by the customer.
