What happens here

This video showcases extensive snow removal operations during winter, highlighting the use of heavy machinery such as wheel loaders, skid loaders, and dump trucks with roll-off containers for hauling and dumping snow. While not explicitly demonstrating dump trailer winterization for storage, the video illustrates critical operational practices, efficient loading techniques, and equipment handling in harsh winter conditions. These practices indirectly contribute to a dump trailer's overall maintenance and readiness for both continued winter use and eventual storage, by minimizing wear and tear and ensuring operational integrity.

Good morning, one and all. Did you get any sleep? >> Uh, I got like two hours of sleep. >> All right. Yeah, two hours. We're back at it. Uh, if you missed this missed the last video, this is the continuation of that video. We started snow plowing. >> Uh, I think I we started at like 10 yesterday. >> Yesterday. >> Went home, got a little sleep, but now we're hauling snow. Where are we starting first? Uh at Harmony. I just going to finish giving these guys a ride around here and showing them and then they'll jump in the machines and you can rode them up to Harmony. >> Harmony? >> Yeah. I'll send the uh route like in order with the addresses into that message for us all to see. >> Okay. >> And then Zach, you're just going to go over there where I plowed in that spot over there. >> And you're just going to the rolloffs are going to be dumping loads in there. Push it as far back as >> to the left. I don't think you want to go straight back because there's that building there. Start pushing it to the left in the field. Try your best not to rip up the grass. Kind of float over it. >> Basically, make a ramp and then just keep going from there, right? >> Yeah. Push it back as far as you can. We're going to be hauling a lot of snow over there tonight. So, >> yeah, we we underestimate our snow dumps from the last time we >> push push it back. >> How many rolloffs we got running tonight? >> Two are running tonight. about six. >> But not all of our sites require hauling. Some of our sites were just going to be doing what we call push backs or making space for upcoming storm events where we take the entire pile and just move everything out of the way. This is the kind of work we actually enjoy doing. There's very little stress and it's just a matter of making space on a night after we've been able to finally get some rest and get caught up. So, it feels good to be back in the equipment and running on nights like this. Let's hop in the sledge and start moving some No up here. Heat. Heat. All right. Well, these guys got a busy night of pushing all of these snow banks as far back as possible, and the other crews are stealing all of the trucks. So, we're going to go over and see how the other guys are doing with all of the trucks, and let these guys just keep doing what they do. Heat. Heat. Heat. How are you? >> Good. How are you >> doing? Good on this cold night. >> Yeah, it's a little chilly here. >> Yeah, it is. Good to be working though. Good to be working. One of the advantages of the rolloffs is they got a special shake at the end that gets everything clean. And when they drop them all the way down to the ground, the operators can easily pack those containers as full as possible. And all of the hauling we're doing happens to be on site. So, we can really put some extra heavy duty loads in, but they're not really heavy duty. Just piled up high. You know, snow wasn't heavy, right? Well, snow actually can be pretty heavy, but in this case, it's not compared to concrete, asphalt, or gravel. And while the truck is hauling, the Hyundai and the Mechac are busy loosening up the snow and getting it ready to be loaded into the next container. Let's head there now and see what they're up to. We pile the snow as high as possible during the events to preserve as many parking spaces as possible. But once we're into the loading and hauling phase, we do the exact opposite and start knocking those piles down and loosening them up so that we can easily get them into the dumpster. So the Mecca's job is just to go through and soften up the piles while the big Hyundai loader shoves them into the dumpsters. Next up, let's hop in that big Hyundai loader and top off one of these dumpsters. heat, heat. Heat. Next up, let's head over to the site that Timmy's working on with the ASV. He's got a dumpster over there, and we're going to see how well he's doing with just a skid loader, and he's doing it all by himself, meaning he's breaking up the piles plus loading and hauling. The big difference is his truck has a little further to go, which gives him more time in between loads to get everything prepared. >> Holy buckets. >> Tonight about it's it's momentum tonight. How you load the truck. [laughter] Oh man. Have you ran into anything yet that you didn't want to? >> Not yet. >> No. Good. Good. >> No. >> That is >> I went over or ass over tea kettle into the dumpster there with a big fan load. But >> Oh, you did? >> It was like nosing in. Yeah. >> Oh, you put that much snow in the bucket. >> Wow. I wouldn't think snow would make it tip. You must had a big fat load. >> Yeah. Well, some of it's like just dense ice in the middle of the pile. You never know. You know, get it up in the air and then >> Yep. >> Is this Are you just going to do this last load over here or what are you going to do? Something >> Yeah, that's kind of push back good enough. Trying to get through this one as quick as we can, you know, just give parking spots. Parking spots open up. when he says it's all about momentum. Let's slow this down and show you exactly what he's talking about. Now, here's something interesting that a lot of people don't know about the ASV underc carriage system. It was actually designed by the same people that make snowmobile tracks. So, the track system for the ASV skid loaders was made by someone in the industry that makes the same track systems that go onto snowmobiles. And it uses an allseason tread pattern instead of a dirt tread pattern. And that's the only reason this machine is actually able to move at all. I know it looks like it's slipping and sliding and doing its thing, but if these were dirt treads, it wouldn't be doing anything at all except for creating a really frustrated operator. Another thing that will be different on this site that we were weren't doing on the other site is how Timmy packs this box. You're going to notice that he makes it nice and tidy because this truck actually has to go down the road. The other truck was all on site. loads could be loose and sloppy and we didn't have to worry about anything. With this one, you'll watch Timmy do a complete 180 all the way around the dumpster, packing everything down and making sure that the truck driver doesn't have to worry about any of this snow sliding off and going onto the roads because that's just not a liability we want. Another thing we don't care about and to keep in mind is if snow spills out of our bucket and falls over the side of the dumpster as we're loading. The plan is to clean up the parking lot anyway. And when snow falls over the sides of the dumpster, it's not going to scratch the paint. If this was dirt, gravel, concrete, asphalt, any other material, we wouldn't allow it to be spilling over the sides onto the dumpster because that's just disrespectful of that company and they're probably trying to keep their paint as good as possible. And our job is not to wreck the paint on somebody else's piece of equipment that's just trying to help us out and work with us on jobs. That's what a team's all about. Now, if you watch, you're going to see Tim starting to knock the pile down so that it just doesn't spill out while the driver is going down the road. He's just going to clean up and touch up his load for Boy, he has more crap. I'm going to call this video done. It's 11 o'clock at night and we're just got a lot of the same thing that you've just seen. Load haul, load haul. We're going to be doing this till 8 in the morning. So, Timmy's having a little too much fun. He likes loading and hauling snow a lot more than plowing. There's no pressure. You a little dizzy. >> Yeah. You ever get dizzy from doing that? >> That was singing good, man. It's slick. >> Oh, man. But that's it for this one. We're just going to keep going and I hope you guys enjoyed going along for the ride tonight and we'll see you guys on the next one. God bless and go get them, guys. We'll see you later.
