MAJOR Progress! Our 1970s Compound Backyard Clearing Begins!

What happens here

Professional tree services are hired to remove large, risky trees that are either too close to the house, overhanging structures, or situated poorly near the driveway. The arborist uses a boom truck to dismantle trees piece by piece, avoiding damage to surrounding property. The owner mentions that they will handle the cleanup of the fallen branches and debris themselves to save costs.

Goal: Safely remove hazardous large trees from the property.

Tools and materials

  • Boom Truck — Lifting arborists and tree sections for safe removal
  • Chainsaw — Cutting down tree sections

So we can do the cleaning up part, save some money ourselves, but the actual cutting down, I don't have a boom truck, so I can't do that. I'm also not a monkey. You know, it kind of sucks having to take some of these out because I like the shade that they get on the driveway here and on the house and all that. Gets you things cooler in the summer, but man, all these ones that were in front of the shop just make that whole front drive area totally useless. And that can't really work like that. Although I think once most of these trees up here are just at buds now, once they actually fill out and leaf up, especially these ones, they'll keep the house a lot more shaded. But right now it just feels like I mean, it's so cool outside, but I'm not used to standing here and having this much sunlight on me. Man, that thing is tall. It's one of the tallest trees out here. It is May 1st, 2026, and things are changing. They are getting better. We're getting somewhere. This place is turning into something that's looking less and less like an abandoned house and more and more like somewhere
