Apply Wood Stain/Finish

What happens here

Once the main wood structure is assembled and any glue has dried, apply a chosen wood stain or finish to all visible surfaces of the mantel. Pour a small amount of the stain directly onto the wood, then use a clean cloth to spread and rub it evenly into the grain. Continue applying and wiping until the desired color and finish are achieved. Allow adequate drying time as per the product's instructions.
