What happens here
After the epoxy base coat and flakes have fully cured (typically 12-24 hours), the next step is to remove any loose, un-adhered flakes and scrape down any 'high spots' that are standing vertically. First, use a leaf blower to quickly clear the majority of the loose flakes into a designated collection area, such as a corner of the garage. Then, take a long-handled floor scraper or a sturdy street broom and lightly scrape the entire surface of the floor. This action flattens any flakes that are not fully embedded and removes any remaining loose material. Finally, use a broom and dustpan (or a shovel, as shown) to collect all the scraped and blown-off flakes into a cardboard box for disposal.
