IT'S GOTTA BE DONE...WHETHER I LIKE IT OR NOT

What happens here

Walk along the pond's edge, operating the Stihl weed whacker to systematically cut down the tall grasses and weeds. The objective is to create a clear border, which improves safety by reducing the risk of a tractor rolling into the pond if it gets too close. In steeper sections, a wider clear zone (e.g., 15 feet) is maintained, while in less steep areas, about 8 feet is cleared. While most of the perimeter is cleared, some areas are intentionally left to grow cat-tails and other plants to provide habitat for frogs, fish, and other wildlife. This is a recurring task performed two to three times a year to manage growth and prevent overgrowth by briers, blackberries, and wild trees.

Goal: Actively use the string trimmer to cut down overgrown vegetation around the pond, ensuring a clear and safe perimeter while maintaining habitat in select areas.

still baby alright guys so let's give you a little bit of a foreign after there's your before and there's after looks a lot better now you guys might be thinking now Josh why are you weed eating around your pond when you have all this equipment to mow well when you get next to a pond with a tractor it's dangerous territory mania tractor many as your returned many alone mower has ended up in a pond because you get up close to the edge and it gives way and rolls over in the pond so what we're doing is cutting this back for safety sake okay so in the really steep spots like what we just did I'll cut probably 15 feet off the pond and in places like this I probably cut about eight feet off the pond that way we don't run such a risk of rolling over in the pond with the tractor now that's an expensive mistake and you don't want to make it will go all the way around the entire pond here and we'll clip this grass and that way we don't have to worry about it growing up in briars and blackberries and wild trees and all sorts of stuff we keep it nice and clean around our pond and we will leave some areas alone for cattails and stuff to grow so we can have some habitat for frogs and fish and stuff like that but that's what's going on and we've also discovered that we have another problem here in the pond we've got a muskrat and it's digging it's digging all around the edges of the pond and what a muskrat will do is dig into your dam and ruin your pond so we've got to take care of that problem also so we've got a little bit more trimming to do around the pond and then we'll take you up and show you the rest of the
